Job Description

Microchip has an opportunity on the compressed Back Night shift for a Production Supervisor at our Fab 4 facility in Gresham, Oregon. This position is responsible for staffing, supervising and developing non-exempt employees in a clean room manufacturing environment. The Production Supervisor sets and monitors WIP priorities to meet production goals and continuously improve upon production systems. They must also support Microchip's Guiding Values while monitoring, evaluating and providing performance feedback to Production Specialists.

Responsibilities
  • Supervise Production Specialists in a fast paced clean-room manufacturing facility
  • Flex work schedule to accommodate production operations
  • Monitor and take appropriate action to meet production goals in a manner consistent with Microchip’s Guiding Values and Fab 4 culture
  • Perform administrative duties such as record keeping, Workday timekeeping validation, training, performance evaluation, employee development and employee discipline
  • Effectively lead and drive continuous and quality related improvements, cost reduction measures and barrier removal teams
  • Actively engage in project management responsibilities and support a wide range of production group projects
  • Adhere to and support clean-room and safety requirements
Requirements / QualificationsRequired Qualifications
  • 3+ years of supervisory (direct and/or direct lead) experience
  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Must demonstrate effective leadership skills, particularly in the performance management and career development of Production Specialists
  • Ability to resolve conflicts, meet deadlines, manage production activities and effectively multi-task
  • Knowledgeable in employee engagement and team building skills
  • Knowledge of professional ethics, including confidentiality policy
  • Creative thinking, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong organization, documentation and writing skills
  • Effective communicator to a wide range of groups , including written, oral, public speaking and presentation skills
  • Computer literacy in word processing, spreadsheets, internet access and E-mail
  • Regular and predictable attendance
Preferred Qualifications
  • BS/BA degree
  • Supervisory experience in a fast-paced, high-tech manufacturing environment
Special Qualifications
  • May need to attend work related meetings on unscheduled days
