Job description

Job Summary

The Operations Specialist I - Trust will provide support to Trust Administration and the Operations Manager in the daily administration and management of our trust accounts. The Operations Specialist I - Trust should have the skills and knowledge to support these types of accounts. The Operations Specialist I - Trust also needs to be initiative-taking with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently under a time sensitive delivery schedule, purposeful, detailed, and have exceptional communication and people skills.

Essential Functions

  • Account Opening: receive, review and process new/existing client account paperwork.
  • Account Maintenance: ensure all client records are updated accurately and timely.
  • Asset Control/Vault custodial duties: Asset maintenance, reconciliation, securing/removing tangible assets, assist with vault audits
  • Process the trust daily cash registers. Resolve any out of balance conditions created by a credit to or remittance from an account within the Trust Platform. Function as the primary liaison for the daily cash balancing and ensure that the daily Trust Settlement reconciliation is performed.
  • Processes account deposits and disbursements through AddVantage.
  • Maintain internal controls and meet audit and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform general administrative duties such as mailing, correspondence and maintaining customer records.
  • Assist Operations Manager with special projects, as needed.
  • Work with other areas of Operations to provide back-up or assistance when needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Bachelors degree in a business, finance or related field, or equivalent work experience
  • 2 years of trust, investment, banking operations experience.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills
  • Collaborative attitude
  • Proficient skills with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong organizational skills and diligence.
  • Positive outlook and adapts easily to a constantly changing environment.
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills.
  • Ability to communicate thoughts and findings to management effectively and efficiently.

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.

Travel Requirements

  • Less than 5% of the time, but occasional travel is necessary.
