THE JOB:
The Creative Studio Manager leads a shared resource of Senior Designers, Designers, and Production Artists who support both the Creative Strategy and Creative Studio teams across MGM Resorts. The role is accountable for daily workload management, capacity planning, quality control and review of operational creative output, team development, and direct hands-on creative contribution as needed to ensure consistent, on-brand, on-time delivery of creative and assignment of the Design group.
THE DAY-TO-DAY:
  • Hire, onboard, and ramp new designers and production artists, defining role expectations, training plans, and craft benchmarks; build a healthy mix of senior, mid-level, and production talent that matches portfolio demand.
  • Lead day-to-day quality control across operational creative output, reviewing design and production artist work for accuracy, brand consistency, technical correctness, and adherence to MGM creative standards before files leave the studio.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 10 or more designers and production artists, conducting regular feedback conversations, performance reviews, and career development planning, and fostering a culture of craft, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage the daily workload of the shared design pool intake creative requests from the Creative Strategy and Creative Studio teams.
  • Assign work to the appropriate designer or production artist based on skill, capacity, and priority, and balance competing demands across both teams to ensure on-time delivery.
  • Contribute hands-on as a senior designer when capacity, complexity, or escalation requires it, operating as a player-coach who can step into design, layout, finishing, and production work alongside the team.
  • Partner with the Senior Creative Directors of Creative Strategy and Creative Studio, project managers, and producers to forecast capacity, surface bottlenecks, and align the design pool to shifting business priorities; recommend freelance or agency support when in-house capacity is exceeded.
  • Establish and maintain studio operating standards including file organization, version control, naming conventions, asset libraries, brand guideline adherence, and AI-assisted production workflows that improve speed and quality.

A master of visual storytelling, this professional possesses a stellar portfolio demonstrating deep expertise in graphic design, layout, typography, brand systems, and multi-channel production.
  • They are highly adept at managing creative workflows, intake, and team capacity to support multiple internal clients efficiently. Technically proficient, they pair expert-level Adobe Creative Suite capabilities and Figma fluency with a forward-thinking mastery of AI-assisted design and productivity tools.
  • As an exceptional communicator, they provide clear, constructive feedback that inspires teams to maintain premier standards while successfully navigating generative content creation and modern creative workflows.
