As a(n) Creative Marketing Specialist at Sandia Area, you are responsible for delivering excellent service while maintaining personal accountability in your actions and behaviors. By prioritizing member satisfaction and operational efficiency, you directly contribute to the organization's mission of strengthening financial well-being for our members and community. You are entrusted to uphold our values in every interaction, ensuring trust, accuracy, and a focus on service excellence.
Reporting directly to the Creative & Brand Manager, the Creative Marketing Specialist is responsible for storytelling, content creation, and possessing a deep understanding of marketing trends. Contributes to marketing efforts through copywriting, graphic design, and collaboration with cross-functional teams. Manages all aspects of our social media channels, from strategy development to content creation and performance reporting.
Duties and responsibilities
Creative
  • Designs, edits, and proofs creative content for various channels to include website, digital, print, and video as required.
  • Copywrites for a variety of mediums including blogs, website, PR, corporate/internal communication, SEO/SEM, and print collateral. This includes content generation, editing and proofing.
  • Ensures consistent branding and design across all assets and third-party vendor integrations.
  • Through organization-wide content marketing, provides a positive, intuitive experience to continuously increase engagement, wallet share, and the conversion of leads.
  • Develops and maintains proficiency in various software programs for production, design, and tabulation of various marketing pieces and research materials. This includes demonstrating a working knowledge Adobe Creative Suite and Canva.
  • Coordinates with the Marketing Operations Officer to export materials for print and submission as required.

Social Media
  • Creates and executes campaign strategies for social media platforms in conjunction with Marketing campaign initiatives.
  • Manages ongoing content schedule for all social media to increase education about financial and security/fraud topics.
  • Helps brand and market the credit union through social media events, promotions, and initiatives.
  • Monitors and responds on review platforms (Google, Yelp, etc).
  • Builds social media campaigns to gain measurable member engagement and conversions, in coordination with other marketing campaign channels.
  • Seeks out opportunities to expand media offerings through social media and make recommendation for new avenues of communication.

Reporting & Analytics
  • Assesses performance metrics including project and campaign analytics, efficiency metrics, brand metrics, customer metrics, and overall return on investment for marketing initiatives and makes recommendations based on findings.
  • Compiles and maintains monthly statistics and results for presentation in marketing reports.

Department Operational Support
  • Assists in other marketing functions of the credit union as determined by the SVP Marketing and Creative and Brand Manager.
  • Adheres to annual marketing plan and budget.

  • Demonstrate a commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and staying informed on industry trends and best practices.
  • Willing to undergo background and credit checks as required by federal and state regulations.
  • Understand and comply with all policies, procedures, and legal guidelines, including adherence to the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC), and other applicable financial regulations.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
  • Expertise in omnichannel marketing strategies. with a requisite understanding of financial institution operations.
  • Highly proficient in management of all social media platforms, including but not limited to Meta, X, LinkedIn, Youtube, Google Business, and Tiktok.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Ability to multitask and excellent time management skills.
  • Must be highly motivated, independent, creative with good follow-up skills, energetic, and be a self-starter.
  • Proficient in the use of Adobe Creative Cloud along with corresponding programs such as Photoshop, InDesign, Acrobat, Illustrator, Premiere Pro and After Effects.
  • Exceptional time management and organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple responsibilities, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
  • Proactive in seeking professional growth, embracing both formal and informal development opportunities, and demonstrating adaptability to new responsibilities.
  • Team-oriented with a strong collaborative mindset, actively supporting team members and contributing to a positive and high-performing environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Must be willing and able to drive on company business, maintain a valid Driver's License, and adhere to Sandia Area's Driving Policy.
  • Ability to perform essential functions, including the ability to lift up to 20 lbs. as needed.

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in related field.

Directly related experience, in addition to minimum years required, may be considered as a substitution.
  • Four (4)year(s) of applicable experience required.
  • Relevant marketing experience required.
  • Financial Institution experience is a plus.
