Job description

Who we are

Himitsu Station is an immersive escape experience in Salt Lake City, Utah, inspired by retro Japanese urban culture and fantasy with meticulously crafted environments.

We are a passion-driven organization with an uncompromising attention to detail. Every decision is made in service of the story. No matter the role, every member of our team is responsible for protecting and elevating the world we've created.

This is a fast-paced, high-accountability environment with frequent feedback and high standards. We believe growth comes from being challenged, so we invest in the development of every member of our team and actively support their professional growth. If you're motivated to improve your craft, take ownership, and build something exceptional alongside a team that genuinely enjoys working together, you'll thrive here. We work hard, celebrate wins, and people regularly bring in snacks to share!

Our creative principles

We care about three values above all else:

Curiosity — You're always exploring new creative approaches, studying great filmmaking and storytelling, and looking for deeper insights into our guests, brand, and audience. Curiosity isn't just encouraged here, it's expected.

Excellence —You hold yourself to high standards. Every piece of content should feel on brand, intentional, and aligned with our storytelling values. You sweat the details, stay organized, and take ownership of your work.

Intensity — You bring energy, initiative, and ambition. You don't wait for direction, you identify opportunities, solve problems, and see projects through from concept to final delivery. We value people who are intrinsically motivated and genuinely enjoy doing great work.

The role: Creative Content Producer

This isn't a typical content creation job. You'll help shape how millions of people discover Himitsu Station and experience our world before they ever step through the front door. If you love filmmaking, storytelling, and building something meaningful from the ground up, you'll have the opportunity to make a lasting impact here. We're not trying to become another local attraction, we're building a world-class entertainment brand, and the content you create will play a central role in our mission.

You are responsible for creating content that stays true to the brand, showcases the guest experience, and extends our world beyond the attraction and into social media.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop creative content concepts and lead creative meetings
  • Write scripts and shot outlines
  • Plan and schedule content shoots
  • Direct and produce photo and video productions
  • Capture photo and video content
  • Edit content in well organized project files
  • Publish content across social media platforms
  • Direct and interview guests for testimonials and in-game footage
  • Organize, manage, and archive media files for easy access
  • Analyze content performance and identify opportunities for improvement
  • Ensure all content aligns with Himitsu Station's brand
  • Maintain company cameras, lighting, audio, and other production equipment

What success looks like

  • Your content drives bookings. Our primary measure of success is how many guests your content inspires to visit Himitsu Station.
  • Content consistently reflects the Himitsu Station brand, story, and guest experience.
  • You consistently publish 2–3 high-quality pieces of content each week.
  • Your content reaches an average of 200,000–400,000 weekly views. While views aren't the goal, they are a leading indicator that our content is resonating.
  • You proactively bring forward new content ideas rather than waiting for direction.
  • You reduce the workload of the founders and operations team by taking ownership of the content production process.
  • You continuously improve your work by testing new ideas, learning from performance data, and refining your creative process.

Qualifications

  • A strong portfolio demonstrating exceptional photo and video storytelling.
  • Proven ability to create high-performing content, supported by performance metrics (views, engagement, retention, conversions, etc.).
  • Three years of content creation experience
  • Proficiency with Adobe Premiere Pro and content creation workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal and hospitality skills when interacting with guests.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred experience

  • Growing a brand through organic short-form content.
  • High-end commercial, short film, or music video production
  • Directing, producing, and scripting narrative content
  • Filming in live entertainment, themed attractions, hospitality, or other guest-facing environments
  • Advanced camera operation, lighting, audio, and camera support systems (gimbals, sliders, etc.)
  • Motion graphics in Adobe After Effects and image editing in Adobe Photoshop
  • Color grading, audio mixing, and post-production workflows
  • Strong understanding of composition, color theory, and visual aesthetics
  • Managing large media libraries and collaborating with freelance creatives and production contractors

This role is NOT for you if

  • You prefer creating content without following a defined brand or creative direction
  • You struggle to meet deadlines or manage your time effectively
  • You need constant direction rather than taking initiative
  • You are uncomfortable giving or receiving constructive feedback
  • You prioritize trends over telling meaningful stories
  • You are uncomfortable interacting with guests while filming
  • You don't pay close attention to detail or continuity
  • You are looking for a role where you can create whatever you want rather than representing a brand

What we offer

  • $60,000 base salary
  • Earn up to $40k bonus based on average booking lead time
  • Paid time off
  • Holiday pay
  • Health benefits
  • Production equipment budget
  • Growth opportunities within the company for high performers

Target start date

August 30th
