Lake Forest School District 115 is seeking a Communications Intern for the 2026-2027 school year.
Description: The communications intern does job duties that are under the Director of Communications. The internship is 15-20 hours per week.
Qualifications:
  • Currently a student enrolled in a communications program.
  • Interested in working collaboratively with students, faculty, parents and administrators in the school setting

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Lead planning and logistics for community engagement events
  • Write press releases, journalistic stories, invitations, and social media posts
  • Build and maintain relationships with local partners, vendors, parent organizations, school administrators, and civic leaders
  • Take pictures and create videos for use on social media, websites, etc.
  • Provide general administrative and event support
  • Demonstrate a commitment to professional growth through reflection and collaboration
  • Perform other job related duties as assigned by direct supervisor

Competencies:
  • Demonstrates ability to function as a positive collaborative member of a team
  • Proficient use of Google Suite
  • Outstanding communication (oral and written) and interpersonal skills, including a positive, problem-solving, and service minded attitude
