Job description

Would you like the opportunity to be our next Transportation Engineer? As a Transportation Engineer at Robinson, you will have the opportunity to complete designs working on all phases and aspects of transportation projects from inception through construction. You will have the opportunity to make an impact in communities such as Gary, Merrillville and St. John.

Your New Opportunity
  • Working on all phases and aspects of transportation projects from inception through construction
  • Leading and managing the technical design of transportation projects with a strong emphasis on the following:
    • Roadway geometrics design
    • Utility and drainage design
    • Hydraulic modeling and analysis
    • Maintenance of traffic design
    • Traffic analysis and traffic signal design
    • Public involvement coordination
    • Phase I/II design tasks for INDOT
  • Reviewing design plans for compliance with federal, state and local regulations
  • Interfacing with municipal clients, utility districts, and state agencies
  • Attending conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's services

Your Background and Credentials
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
  • A minimum of 8 years experience
  • An active PE in the state of Indiana
  • Experience designing roadways for municipalities, various Indiana counties and the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT) is desired
  • Experience with Microsoft products, specifically Word and Excel, is required
  • Experience with AutoCAD/Civil 3D and/or MicroStation is preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and relationship building skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to be collaborative
  • Excellent organizational, planning, and prioritization skills

The pay range for this position is $120,000 to $160,000 annually.
