Job Summary:

The Sr. Manager, Creative Systems leads the infrastructure, workflows, and governance that power the Hawks Studios content engine. This role serves as the operational bridge between content creation and distribution, ensuring all digital and media assets are secure, discoverable, and optimized for global use. By overseeing the full asset lifecycle and driving organizational change management, you will empower marketing, broadcast, and partnership teams to deliver world-class experiences to our fans.

Key Responsibilities:

Media Asset Management

  • Own the administration, optimization, and continuous improvement of Iconik and other DAM/MAM platforms to ensure peak system performance.
  • Define and enforce metadata standards, taxonomy frameworks, and naming conventions, utilizing Generative AI for automated metadata tagging and search optimization.
  • Manage the full asset lifecycle strategy, including ingest, tagging, archiving, and retirement of all creative content.
  • Partner with the Director of Production to implement a scalable creative systems roadmap aligned with production priorities.
  • Lead organizational change management efforts to ensure creative and production teams adopt and adhere to new system workflows and governance policies.

Support & Process Optimization

  • Support seamless routing and distribution workflows for game footage, arena content, and major marketing campaign assets.
  • Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) that improve clarity and operational efficiency across cross-functional teams.
  • Ensure rights management and asset delivery compliance for all internal and external stakeholders, including legal and retail.
  • Directly impact revenue by ensuring sponsor assets are delivered accurately and on time to meet all contractual and partnership obligations.
  • Maintain system security, user permissions, and data integrity to protect the organization's intellectual property.

Training, Tracking & Continuous Improvement

  • Manage and develop the Creative Systems team, fostering a service-oriented mindset that supports creative and production staff.
  • Provide comprehensive training and documentation on asset workflows and metadata best practices for all system users.
  • Track and analyze system usage, workflow efficiency, and asset performance metrics to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Identify and implement automation and AI-driven opportunities to improve content tagging, retrieval, and personalization.
  • Stay current with industry's best practices and emerging technologies.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Provide ad hoc reporting and analysis to support strategic production and content distribution decisions.
  • Assist with event-day surge needs and cross-functional support during high-profile arena events or playoff runs.
  • Participate in professional development and industry networking to stay ahead of emerging media technology trends.
  • Any other job duties assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Digital Media, Information Systems, Marketing, Broadcast Engineering, or a relevant field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5-8+ years of experience managing DAM/MAM systems (specifically Iconik or similar cloud-native platforms) within sports or media environments.
  • Proven expertise in metadata strategy, taxonomy development, and the use of AI for metadata tagging and search optimization.
  • Strong background in change management with the ability to influence cross-functional teams to adopt new technologies and workflows.
  • Ability to lift or move equipment and assets weighing up to 50 lbs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience supporting live production and high-volume content environments in a professional sports setting.
  • Advanced proficiency with Adobe Creative Cloud integrations and broadcast-specific asset management tools.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing direct reports and driving a collaborative team culture.
