Account Management Assistant

HSP Direct

Ashburn, VA • On-site

Full-time

Posted 4 days ago

Job description

High standards. Real responsibility. A clear path to Account Manager.
At HSP Direct, we don't hire for availability-we hire for impact.
Our mission is clear: elect conservative leaders and advance causes that defend freedom. We execute that mission by building best-in-class, high-performance fundraising programs for political and nonprofit organizations nationwide.
You do not need years of experience to start here. You do need the drive, judgment, curiosity, and work ethic to earn responsibility quickly.
The Opportunity
We are looking for an Account Management Assistant-an early-career professional ready to learn how high-performing client programs are built, managed, and grown. This role is designed for a graduating college senior or recent graduate who wants more than an entry-level job: you want a career path, meaningful responsibility, and the chance to learn directly from experienced leaders.
You will begin by managing lower-complexity accounts while supporting Senior Account Managers and the President on larger, more strategic client relationships. As you demonstrate strong judgment, ownership, and results, you will take on increasing responsibility with the goal of growing into an Account Manager role within approximately 1-2 years.
What You'll Do
  • Own developing client relationships
Manage accounts with guidance, building the habits required to become a trusted client partner.
  • Support senior leaders on key accounts
Work closely with Senior Account Managers and the President to prepare materials, coordinate priorities, follow through on action items, and help keep complex client programs moving.
  • Learn strategy by doing the work
Develop an understanding of direct-response fundraising, client objectives, audience strategy, creative development, data, production, and performance analysis.
  • Coordinate across high-performing teams
Partner with creative, data, production, and other internal teams to keep projects accurate, on time, and aligned with client goals.
  • Use data to improve performance
Learn to read results, identify trends, ask the right questions, and translate performance into smarter next steps.
  • Build toward greater ownership
Take on more complex assignments and client responsibility as your skills, judgment, and track record grow.

Who This Is For
This role is built for someone early in their career who:
  • Wants to build a career in account management, fundraising, marketing, politics, or mission-driven work
  • Learns quickly and actively seeks feedback
  • Communicates clearly, professionally, and with confidence
  • Is highly organized and follows through without being chased
  • Takes ownership of details while keeping the larger objective in mind
  • Is comfortable in a fast-moving environment where expectations are high
  • Is competitive, resilient, and motivated by measurable results
  • Wants responsibility to increase based on performance-not simply tenure

What Sets This Role Apart
  • A real development path
This role is intentionally structured to prepare a high performer to become an Account Manager in approximately 1-2 years.
  • Direct exposure to experienced leaders
You will learn alongside Senior Account Managers and the President, including on important client work.
  • Meaningful responsibility from the start
You will not spend your first year watching from the sidelines. You will own work, support clients, and be accountable for execution.
  • Performance creates opportunity
As you prove you can handle more, you will be given more. Growth is earned through judgment, initiative, reliability, and results.

Qualifications
  • Passion for conservative politics and advancing mission-driven work
  • Bachelor's degree completed or expected by the start date
  • No prior full-time professional experience required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and exhibits executive presence
  • Strong analytical instincts and comfort working with numbers and data
  • Excellent organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
  • High level of personal accountability, professionalism, and initiativeInternships, campus leadership, volunteer work, political involvement, fundraising, marketing, or other relevant experience are valued-but not required

Logistics
  • Full-time, in-office role
  • Location: Ashburn, VA
  • Remote work is not available

Final Thought
You do not need to arrive as an Account Manager. You need to arrive ready to become one.
If you are looking for a comfortable first job, this probably is not it. If you are looking for high standards, strong mentorship, meaningful work, and the opportunity to earn significant responsibility early in your career-this could be the place to start.
