Job Description

The ideal Creative Designer is a craft-driven designer with a wide range of creative capabilities - including a solid background in multi-platform digital and print executions, typography, identity and branding, packaging, print production, and environmental/store visual design.

This is an individual contributor role embedded on Nordstrom's Brand Marketing team. This designer will execute against creative direction provided by leads and directors, bringing craft, precision, and operational excellence to every deliverable.

This role is offered as hybrid in Seattle, WA. Candidates must be available to work in office at the Nordstrom corporate headquarters a minimum of 4 days/week to be considered for this position.

  • Execute creative concepts with craft and consistency, partnering with leads and directors on scope, direction, and approach so work meets business and marketing objectives and supports the overall brand and creative strategies.
  • Execute digital deliverables with a high degree of accuracy and efficiency, adapting master templates across channels and formats.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with marketing, brand, project management, and creative teams.
  • Curiosity in researching and implementing emerging design tools and technologies - especially those that support automation and execution at scale.
  • Present work clearly in team and cross-functional reviews, and take and apply direction well.

You own this if you have...

  • Bachelor's degree in design or 2+ years of relative industry experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Figma, including components, auto layout, variables, and working within shared libraries.
  • Strong proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign).
  • Strong core design skills (typography, spatial relationships, systematic design development).
  • Working knowledge of design systems and brand governance - how to design within them and help maintain them.
  • Strong multi-platform digital design skills across web, email, social, and display formats.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple concurrent deliverables with strong attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
  • Excellent communication skills and comfort working cross-functionally with marketing, brand, project management, and creative.
  • Customer-centric mindset with data-informed design thinking.
  • Curiosity in leveraging ai-powered design tools to accelerate design production workflows.
  • Developing knowledge of possibilities with video editing and new media explorations, fashion styling, copywriting/editing, environmental design and other aspects of creative that collaborate closely with design/art direction.
