Job description

The KID Preschool Plus program is now seeking wonderfully passionate and motivated Lead Preschool Teacher for our infants' classroom. This position is responsible for the day-to-day classroom activities in the KID Preschool PLUS (KPP) where teachers must establish and maintain a classroom environment that is safe and nurturing to facilitate both learning and healing.
Our school uses the Creative Curriculum as a base for our learning and planning. We believe that children should have as many hands on, fun experiences as they can to enrich their love of learning. Our preschool teachers are required to have their 45 hours of Childcare Training and a CDA to join our team.
Skills/Requirements:
  • Must possess at minimum a High School Diploma or GED. Associate or Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Education preferred.
  • Must have 1-3 years' experience working in an infant classroom in a childcare facility with a passion for working with babies 6 weeks to 12 months old.
  • Must have a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) or equivalent.
  • Must have the 45 hours DCF Childcare Licensing training (Part 1, Part 2, and Early Literacy for Children Age Birth Through Three) and must have passed the exams.
  • Advanced training in CPR, First Aid, Child Abuse and/or Child Development.

Benefits & Compensation:
This position starts at $16/hour and full-time employees are eligible to receive a generous benefits plan, including medical, dental, life, vision, a flexible spending account (FSA), short and long-term disability, a matching 401(k) plan, holiday pay, and, after the first year of employment, accrued paid vacation time.
In addition, you will receive a SIGN-ON INCENTIVE OF 40 HOURS OF VACATION TIME OFF AFTER SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF YOUR 90 DAYS PROBATIONARY PERIOD, TO BE TAKEN WITHIN YOUR FIRST YEAR OF EMPLOYMENT.
