Job description

Position Summary:

The Communications Lead plays a vital role in advancing the mission of Katy Christian Ministries (KCM) by supporting digital marketing & communication strategies that increase visibility, deepen donor engagement, and strengthen community outreach. This position blends creative content development, event coordination, website development, and digital/print communications. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, tech-savvy, and enthusiastic about nonprofit work and community service.

Key Responsibilities:Marketing & Communications
  • Develop and schedule engaging content for social media, newsletters, and website updates.
  • Design branded digital and print materials (flyers, graphics, videos) to support events, campaigns, and programs.
  • Ensure consistency in messaging and visuals across all platforms in alignment with KCM’s brand standards.
  • Capture, edit, and curate photos, videos, and success stories from programs and events.
  • Monitor, analyze, and report on performance metrics for all social media and digital campaigns.
  • Maintain and execute KCM’s communications and social media calendar.
  • Community Engagement & Representation
  • At the Director of Development & Strategic Partnership’s discretion, represents KCM at community events, donor gatherings, and outreach opportunities to promote awareness and build relationships.
  • Fundraising Support
  • Coordinate support for fundraising events, including vendor outreach and promotional materials.
  • Assist with donor communications such as campaign updates and impact reports.
  • Maintain donor records and assist with data entry and reporting using the donor management system.
  • Administrative & Cross-Functional Support
  • Collaborate closely with KCM’s Director of Development & Strategic Partnerships on strategic initiatives.
  • Work with IT to optimize digital tools for outreach as needed.
  • Support internal communications and staff engagement activities.
  • Qualifications:
  • 1 3 years of experience in marketing, communications, social media, website management or a related field. Nonprofit experience is a plus.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in all social media platforms, Canva or Adobe Creative Suite, and email marketing tools.
  • Familiarity with donor databases (e.g., Blackbaud Raiser’s Edge) is a plus.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and follow through on assigned projects.
  • Preferred Attributes
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
