Job description

Torus is headquartered in Utah and is expanding manufacturing at our 540,000-square-foot facility in Salt Lake City called GigaOne. Our missionis to build the world’s first mesh energy infrastructure — built to unite people and communities through resilient, secure, and intelligent power. We design, engineer, manufacture, install, and support our systems end-to-end, standing behind them throughout their lifecycle. Torus systems help reduce costs, lower emissions, and protect facilities from outages, while strengthening the security and reliability of the broader utility grid. Torus is committed to American manufacturing, engineering excellence, and building energy systems that last.

At Torus, you will be part of something larger than a single product or technology. Your work will help build energy infrastructure that supports critical systems, industry, and communities for decades to come. We value accountability, collaboration, and clear thinking. We are looking for people who want to solve hard problems and build things that matter.

About the Role

As Creative Director , you’ll lead the evolution of our brand across every touchpoint—guiding strategy, messaging, and visual identity to reflect our impact across utilities, C&I, data centers, and government sectors. You’ll own brand architecture, oversee creative execution, and collaborate across teams to ensure our brand drives trust, clarity, and growth. We’re looking for a proven creative director with experience scaling brands in energy, climate tech, or hardware—and a passion for building meaningful, mission-aligned brands that shape the future of energy.

Responsibilities
  • Set the overall creative vision for Torus, establishing a distinct aesthetic and voice that differentiates the brand across all media.
  • Own and evolve the Torus brand across all customer segments: utilities, commercial & industrial, data centers, and government/defense.
  • Develop and enforce brand guidelines across every touchpoint: product, digital, print, events, presentations, partnerships, physical spaces, and packaging.
  • Lead development of brand architecture that aligns with product tiers (hardware, software, security) and commercial personas.
  • Guide all creative work (internal and agency) to ensure consistency, clarity, and resonance with our audience.
  • Oversee naming, messaging frameworks, visual identity systems, and tone of voice—especially as Torus expands nationally.
  • Collaborate with the content team, product marketing, sales, product, manufacturing, and customer experience to ensure our brand elevates every part of the customer journey.
  • Bridge strategy and execution — turning positioning, audience insights, and campaign goals into creative direction that teams can confidently build from.
  • Support campaign and content strategy across paid, owned, and earned channels—including LinkedIn, conferences, email, video, press, and government.
Required Experience
  • 8+ years in brand or creative leadership roles.
  • Portfolio submissionis required and must be included with your application.
  • Background in managing rebrands or building new categories.
  • Strong track record of building and scaling brands in fast-growing industries—energy, hardware, climate tech, or high tech a plus.
  • Experience developing brand guidelines and systems, from positioning to visual execution to launch.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead internal creative teams and external agencies.
  • Deep understanding of the full marketing funnel and how brand influences conversion, loyalty, and pricing power.
  • Comfort collaborating across technical, sales, and executive teams to translate brand into commercial outcomes.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior work in climate, energy, utilities, or grid infrastructure sectors.
  • Experience with product suites or tiered brands and how to unify them under a master brand.
  • Familiarity with sales cycles and the brand trust required to support long sales processes.
  • Comfort working across both digital and physical brand expressions—especially for a company with domestic manufacturing, software, and hardware components.
  • Strong understanding of technical products—energy storage, energy management, utilities, grid technology.

Background Check All candidates are subject to a background check.

Location The role is Utah-based remote with on-site work as needed in our South Salt Lake Warehouse (air-conditioned) and/or GigaOne in Salt Lake City. May require occasional onsite work in our Springville R&D warehouse (air-conditioned and non air-conditioned).
