Job description

Groove Jones is looking for a Creative Director or Associate Creative Director to help shape the next generation of immersive, interactive, and digitally driven brand experiences.

This is not a purely supervisory role. We’re looking for a hybrid creative leader who can develop strong ideas, design polished experience concepts in Figma, present confidently to clients, and work closely with designers, developers, and production teams to bring ideas to life.

The ideal candidate blends concepting, storytelling, UX thinking, visual design, and emerging technology fluency across web and VR/XR. They should be comfortable moving beyond static concepts into rapid prototyping—using modern AI tools, no-code platforms, and light "vibe coding" to quickly explore, test, and communicate interactive experiences. While this is primarily a creative leadership role, the right candidate is also willing to roll up their sleeves and contribute to production when needed, helping teams solve problems, refine experiences, and move projects across the finish line.

If you’re equally comfortable building a pitch narrative, mocking up an experience flow, shaping a compelling user journey, and collaborating with developers to make it real, we’d love to hear from you.

Local to Dallas / Fort Worth , Texas preferred but not required.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead creative direction for interactive projects spanning web, immersive, and emerging technology platforms.
  • Develop concepts, experience frameworks, and storytelling approaches for pitches, prototypes, and client engagements.
  • Design user flows, wireframes, interface concepts, and polished presentation materials in Figma.
  • Partner closely with strategy, design, production, and development teams from concept through execution.
  • Present ideas, prototypes, and creative rationale to clients in a clear, compelling, and confident way.
  • Help shape new business pitches and innovation proposals with strong ideation and client-facing presence.
  • Contribute hands-on to rapid prototyping and implementation, using modern creative tools and AI-assisted workflows where helpful.
  • Explore and validate ideas through lightweight builds, “vibe coding,” and collaborative experimentation.
  • Define the visual style, interaction model, and experience design for projects across branded web experiences, immersive activations, VR/XR applications, and spatial platforms.
  • Provide creative feedback and direction while remaining active in the work itself.
  • Stay current on trends in immersive tech, spatial computing, interactive design, and modern web experiences, and translate them into opportunities for clients.

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of relevant experience for Associate Creative Director candidates or 8+ years for Creative Director candidates.
  • Strong portfolio demonstrating interactive concepting, experience design, visual design, and shipped digital work.
  • Fluency in Figma, including wireframing, UX flows, interface design, and presentation storytelling.
  • Experience designing for both web and immersive platforms, especially VR, XR, real-time 3D, or spatial experiences.
  • Proven ability to lead ideation and contribute to pitch work and client presentations.
  • Strong client-facing communication skills and confidence in presenting creative ideas to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Hands-on mindset with the ability to move from concept to prototype, not just direct others.
  • Comfort with AI-assisted workflows, rapid prototyping, and experimental implementation methods.
  • Strong understanding of interaction design, digital storytelling, and experience-led creative development.
  • Collaborative, low-ego approach with strong communication and feedback skills.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with WebGL, Three.js, React, Unity, Unreal, or related interactive production pipelines.
  • Familiarity with creative coding, front-end implementation, or prototyping tools beyond Figma.
  • Experience in branded entertainment, advertising, campaign activations, or innovation-led client work.
  • Exposure to VR product development, spatial UX, or Apple Vision Pro ecosystem work.
  • Ability to independently build quick proof-of-concepts to communicate ideas.
