Job description

The Associate Creative Director, Copy is responsible for the elevating the concept & copy of strategically grounded print, retail, digital and video projects. They work in conjunction with their fellow creative team members (and when necessary, freelance writers/designers) in generating concepts and copy that meet our clients’ strategic goals. They write, revise and proof their own work, as well as review and improve, when needed, the work of other art/copy teams for quality, accuracy, originality. Additionally, they are responsible for the legal integrity of our copy, thoroughly conducting all necessary trademark searches, while also proofreading for any inaccuracies. They will also help proof and write internal Blue Chip writing assignments, from BC website updates to journalistic & agency PR writing needs to creative case studies & award submissions.

General Responsibilities
  • Complies with all corporate and departmental standard operating procedures as well as FDA and other governmental regulations
  • Ensures all activities and operations are performed in compliance with regulatory and federal regulations.
  • Responsible for maintaining up to date weekly time tracking, per the Agency’s time tracking policy.
  • Demonstrates the mission, vision, values and culture principles of Blue Chip
Creative Responsibilities
  • Writes & oversees the conceptual copy, tone, look & feel for a variety of integrated assignments, ranging from social to digital to traditional marketing efforts, against both brand and shopper campaigns
  • Directly supports their CD in leading certain client projects by guiding teams to breakthrough ideas and execution
  • Collaborates closely with colleagues in other departments to ensure their concepts and copy is on strategy, media-centric and creative commerce driven
  • Contributes to the copywriting efforts for BC brand marketing efforts, like internal & external think-pieces and BC website copy updates
Team Responsibilities
  • Continues to evolve conceptual thinking, going beyond purely executional objectives and contributes broader copywriting ideas and brings them to their CD manager.
  • Must help CDs lead certain projects deemed appropriate
Leadership Responsibilities
  • Works with their CD to identify the most relevant and urgent projects for them to lead on certain clients
  • Manages and oversees art and copy team to breakthrough creative ideation and execution
  • Brings forward-thinking solutions to their teams and the agency when it comes to creative trends and culturally relevant conversations
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university preferred.
  • 7+ years’ experience of agency copywriting
  • Must possess excellent writing and conceptual experience across a variety of integrated mediums, specifically print, digital, and social across both brand and shopper marketing disciplines
Bonus Eligibility

The pay range for this position in Illinois is expected to be between $90,000 to $110,000 per Year. However, base pay offered is based on market location, and may vary further depending on individualized factors for job candidates, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective considerations
