Overview

MSA, a leading consulting firm, is hiring a Survey Technician II at our Rhinelander, WI office location!

MSA offers unparalleled expertise to help expedite and ensure the highest quality results on a variety of surveying projects, including land, subdivision, right-of-way, and utility surveys. Our clients can count on a consistent process and dependable results delivered to the highest standards. Our land surveyors use the latest in geometric technology and are continuously working to incorporate new capabilities. This position is primarily field-based, with an MSA vehicle available for project activity. While most projects are in the Greater Rhinelander area, occasional overnights are expected.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Field work, including staking and surveying
  • Perform other office functions, including data reduction/computations, digital terrain modeling/surface creation
  • Assist project managers in the preparation of land survey documents
  • CAD drafting for municipal infrastructure projects
  • Assist in municipal plan preparation
Qualifications

WHAT YOU BRING

  • An associate's or bachelor's degree in surveying, civil engineering technology, or related degree preferred
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Surveyor in Training (SIT), or  Certified Survey Technician (CST) preferred
  • A valid driver's license is required
  • 4+ years of prior experience with land surveying experience required
  • Previous experience with AutoCad/Civil 3D is preferred
  • The selected candidate must be authorized to work for any employer in the U.S. without requiring visa sponsorship now or in the future. We are unable to provide or take over sponsorship of an employment visa for this role.

The pay rate for this position ranges from $24 to $38 per hour, commensurate with experience. Higher compensation within this range will be paid to candidates with significant experience and exceptional qualifications.
