Job description

As an Art Therapist, you will make lives better for patients by combining your knowledge of clinical psychology with creative art processes to provide therapy for patients and their famillies.   Strong interpersonal skills to ensure that patients are treated with care and dignity will be essential in this role.  If you enjoy being part of a multidisciplinary treatment team and working directly with patients, we invite you to consider this opportunity.


The Clinical Art Therapist works within the multidisciplinary team to provide psychosocial support for patients and families. The clinical art therapist utilizes clinical psychology in combination with the creative art process to provide short-term counseling, crisis-intervention and education for patients/families hospitalized for illness/injury. This role involves individual therapy sessions, active participation in team meetings, and timely documentation of patient evaluation and progress. This position focuses on direct patient care. Supporting various aspects of program development, as well as arts related projects/programs is also involved in this position. This is a non-exempt position for on-call employees with unpredictable hours and schedules.

 


Education: 

Masters Degree in Art Therapy from an accredited art therapy program and/or completion of Oregon counseling licensing requirements in addition to a master’s degree in Art Therapy is required

Experience: 

Required:

  • Experience in medical art therapy with pediatric patients and families, including short term/brief therapy and crisis intervention

Preferred:

  • Experience with grief counseling
  • Experience working with diverse patient populations and multidisciplinary teams
  • Experience with program development and staff coordination preferred

Registered or pursuing national registration and board certification with the American Art Therapy Association.


USD $34.60 - USD $49.48 /Hr.
