Sterile Processing Technician (SPT)

Location: 410 W 10th Ave, Columbus, OH 43210
Department: Surgical Services
Employment Type: Travel / Contract
Shift: 5x8 Hours , 12x36 = 40 hrs week (Day / Evening / Night)
Duration: 13 Weeks

Pay : $35/ hr. / $1400/ week

Position Overview

KTI health is seeking an experienced Sterile Processing Technician (SPT) to join its Surgical Services team. The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of sterile processing procedures, instrument decontamination, assembly, sterilization, and infection control practices. Experience with SPM (Sterile Processing Management) systems is required.

Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, package, and sterilize surgical instruments and medical equipment.
  • Operate and monitor sterilization equipment and processes.
  • Maintain accurate sterilization records and documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Manage instrument inventory and coordinate with surgical staff to ensure availability of sterile supplies.
  • Utilize SPM software for instrument tracking and workflow management.
  • Perform all modalities of sterilization except Ethylene Oxide (ETO).

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 year of recent Sterile Processing Technician experience.
  • Previous travel experience preferred but not required (First-time travelers accepted).
  • Strong knowledge of SPM systems is required.
  • BLS from AHA
  • Experience with all sterilization modalities except ETO.
  • Current Sterile Processing certification preferred (CRCST or equivalent).
  • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced surgical environment.
