JOB TITLE: Shipping, Carpenter

JOB PURPOSE: This position is primarily responsible for carpentry from drawings or written instructions. This position operates under the direct supervision of the Manager, Shipping, ensuring that jobs are completed on schedule with minimal assistance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES amp; RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Building crates and skids for various departments, including requisitions for and inventory of lumber and supplies.
• Receives written instructions and/or engineering drawings and interprets to plan necessary tasks.
• Use hand and power tools applicable to trade.
• Organizes daily work in such a manner that provides efficient working area and output.
• Accurately completes and documents work orders and time sheets prior to submission to supervisor.
• Maintains clean and orderly conditions in all working areas.
• Ensuring duties are performed in a fiscally responsible manner while observing all safety, environmental, and quality policies and regulations.
• Assist in other areas of the shipping and receiving as needed.
• Maintain regular and predictable attendance
• Work with others in a cooperative fashion

QUALIFICATIONS: Experience, Competencies, and Education

• High school education
• Knowledge of basic carpentry skills, methods, and materials.
• Demonstrates proper and safe use of hand tools, pneumatic nail guns, miter saw, and panel saw.
• Must have knowledge in reading drawings and a working knowledge of mathematics as it relates to job duties

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF JOB: This position requires that the team member be able to perform the following physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation:

• Ability and dexterity in use of various manual and powered hand tools.
• Must be able to operate a forklift safely and proficiently.
• Occasional periods of high levels of physical exertion are needed. This includes heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds), climbing, crouching, balancing, reaching, stooping, carrying, in above or below normal temperatures, etc; Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: This position requires that the team member be able to work effectively in a work environment involving:

• Fast-paced Manufacturing
• Not climate controlled
