Role Overview

As a Cardiac Device Technician, you will support physicians and patients by managing implanted cardiac devices, monitoring patient data, and ensuring efficient coordination of cardiac care services.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Performing implanted cardiac device interrogations and adjusting device settings under provider supervision
  • Managing implanted cardiac device setup, monitoring, reporting, and remote transmissions
  • Monitoring and reporting LifeVest data
  • Serving as a resource to physicians and staff while supporting efficient patient flow
  • Providing education to patients and families regarding device function, monitoring, and follow-up care
  • Assisting with post-implant wound checks
  • Serving as a liaison between patients, providers, and clinical staff
  • Troubleshooting critical device issues and coordinating timely resolution
  • Managing device recall notices and coordinating patient follow-up
  • Monitoring devices nearing ERI and coordinating generator replacement scheduling
  • Maintaining device databases, monitoring records, and reporting systems
  • Supporting appointment scheduling, medical record management, and clinic operations
  • Ensuring equipment and examination rooms are maintained and properly stocked

Qualifications

Education

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Experience

Required (one of the following):

  • Cardiology Arrhythmia Certification and three (3) years of healthcare experience
  • Cardiology Arrhythmia Certification and one (1) year of cardiology experience
  • Cardiology Arrhythmia Certification and graduation from an approved technical school specializing in implanted devices and/or arrhythmias
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the role

Required Skills

  • Understanding of cardiac arrhythmias, pacing therapies, and defibrillation therapies
  • Knowledge of cardiac devices including pacemakers and related technologies

Required:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

Preferred:
