This position is responsible to ensure that all company hoisting policies and procedures are enforced in the field while providing continuous support to the projects. Assist the senior most crane superintendent in consulting with the project team on all hoisting mobilizations, jumps, and demobilizations of hoisting equipment. This position leads the hoisting pre-con coordination meetings when assigned.

  • Assist the senior most crane superintendent in Crane/Hoisting planning, safety, operations and oversee all crane and hoisting activities in the field.
  • Assist the senior most crane superintendent in Crane/Hoisting utilization, maintenance and repairs
  • Required crane reporting including Daily report of hoisting activities.
  • Compliance with company policies & procedures.
  • Assist the senior most crane superintendent in recruitment and training of crane operators
Specific Duties and Responsibilities

1. Assist the senior most superintendent on identifying crane/hoisting needs for projects.

2. Reviews drawings to assist in the selection of efficient, safe and cost effective hoisting plan(s). Assists in scheduling pre-con coordination meetings with vendors and project team in advance of erecting/jumping/demobilization activities.

3. Responsible for safety on hoisting activities for all projects which includes: assist the senior most superintendent in overseeing critical lift planning meetings, ensuring compliance with all governmental safety programs and company initiatives, annual crane and hoist inspections, wire rope inspections and replacement parameters are followed, crane and safety training is completed and documented as needed. Assist the senior most superintendent with ongoing safety initiatives including the timely completion of NCCCO certifications for all operators.

4. Works closely with the senior most superintend and safety department on safety initiatives.

5. Ensures that the crane/hoisting needs of the field are met in a safe and efficient manner.

6. Responsible for keeping all cranes maintained and repaired in accordance with Company Policy. This includes ensuring that good communication is achieved with service department personnel on setting priorities on all needed repairs/inspections/services.

7. Assist the senior most superintendent in maintaining accurate records and required reporting on crane, man and material hoisting activities which includes: Crane cable replacement, Compliance reports (PM, Hook, drop tests and annual inspections), Maintenance priority checklist, Crane Operator Authorization List, hoisting equipment records in general, and meeting minutes.

8. Ensures compliance with all corporate and division policies and procedures as it relates to hoisting operations in the field.

9. Other duties as assigned.
