What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Craft Beer Brewer, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Craft Beer Brewer, you need expertise in brewing processes, recipe formulation, quality control, and a solid understanding of fermentation science, often backed by brewing certifications or relevant experience. Familiarity with brewing equipment, laboratory testing tools, and software for inventory and production management is commonly required. Creativity, attention to detail, and strong teamwork skills help brewers excel in developing unique products and collaborating with others. These abilities ensure consistent product quality, innovation, and efficient brewery operations in a competitive craft beer market.

What are some common challenges faced by craft beer brewers in a production environment?

Craft beer brewers often encounter challenges such as maintaining consistency in flavor across batches, managing inventory of ingredients, and ensuring strict adherence to sanitation and safety standards. Because craft breweries typically produce smaller, more varied batches than large-scale breweries, brewers must also be adept at multitasking and problem-solving to address unexpected issues in the brewing or packaging process. Collaborating closely with team members, such as cellar workers and quality control staff, is essential to keep operations running smoothly and to innovate new beer styles.

What are craft beer brewers?

Craft beer brewers are professionals or small breweries dedicated to producing beer in limited quantities using traditional methods and high-quality ingredients. They often experiment with unique flavors and styles, focusing on creativity and quality rather than mass production. Their goal is to offer distinctive beers that stand out from those made by large commercial breweries. Many craft brewers are independently owned and are passionate about their brewing techniques and local communities.

About Lariat Lodge Brewing Company
Lariat Lodge Brewing Company is a Colorado craft brewery and brewpub brand built around community, hospitality, approachable craft beer, and scratch-made food. With locations in Evergreen and Littleton, plus a growing statewide distribution presence, we take pride in getting high-quality Lariat Lodge beer into the hands of our guests, retail partners, bars, restaurants, and liquor stores.
We are looking for a dependable, organized, and hard-working Craft Beer Warehouse Associate to support our brewery and distribution operation. This role is focused on warehouse organization, order building, invoice preparation, pallet tracking, cooler staging, and getting the next day's orders ready to go accurately and efficiently.
Position Summary
The Craft Beer Warehouse Associate plays a key role in keeping our beer moving. This person will gather and pack orders, print invoices, organize paperwork, track pallets, and stage completed orders in proper order inside the cooler. The right candidate is detail-oriented, physically capable, reliable, and comfortable working in a fast-paced brewery and warehouse environment.
This is not a delivery driver position. This role is warehouse-focused and requires strong organization, accuracy, communication, and follow-through.
Key Responsibilities
• Gather, pick, and pack beer orders for upcoming deliveries and account fulfillment.
• Pull the correct products, case counts, keg sizes, and quantities based on invoices and order needs.
• Print invoices and organize paperwork for staged orders.
• Stage completed orders in the cooler in proper order so they are ready for loading and delivery.
• Help ensure orders are complete, accurate, clean, and properly organized before they leave the building.
• Rotate inventory to support freshness, organization, and product quality.
• Communicate shortages, damaged product, order issues, inventory concerns, or cooler space issues promptly.
• Keep the cooler, warehouse, staging areas, pallets, and workspaces clean, organized, and safe.
• Support general warehouse duties, including organizing kegs, cases, pallets, packaging materials, and supplies.
• Follow brewery safety standards and use proper lifting, moving, and forklift procedures at all times.
Qualifications
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Forklift experience is a plus
• Previous warehouse, brewery, beverage distribution, inventory, logistics, or restaurant experience preferred.
• Ability to lift, move, and carry heavy product, including kegs and cases.
• Comfortable working in coolers, warehouse spaces, and active production environments.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to work independently.
• Able to follow written instructions, invoices, staging procedures, and warehouse organization systems.
• Positive attitude and team-first mindset.
• Interest in craft beer is a plus.
Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift up to 55 lbs repeatedly and move heavier items with proper equipment or team assistance.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, reach, push, pull, and carry product throughout the shift.
• Ability to work in cold cooler environments.
• Ability to safely move kegs, cases, pallets, and warehouse materials.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced brewery and warehouse setting.
Ideal Candidate
The ideal candidate is someone who likes staying organized, takes pride in accuracy, and understands that small details matter. This role helps keep our distribution operation running smoothly, so we need someone who can be trusted to build orders correctly, stage them properly, track pallets accurately, and communicate clearly when something does not look right.
You do not need to be a beer expert, but you should care about quality, teamwork, safety, and getting the job done right.
Benefits
• Employee food, beer, and merchandise discounts.
• Paid sick leave in accordance with Colorado law.
• Opportunity to grow within Lariat Lodge Brewing Company.
• Hands-on experience in craft beer distribution, warehouse operations, inventory, and brewery logistics.
