PDS Tech Commercial is partnering with a leading name in the aviation industry to bring on a highly skilled Assembly Mechanic in Wichita, KS. If you have deep experience in aircraft structures and take pride in precision craftsmanship, this is your opportunity to work on critical aerospace programs where quality and expertise matter every day.


Job Title: Assembly Mechanic
Job Type: Full time; Consultant Long term contract or possible temp to perm for right candidate
Location: Wichita, KS
Schedule: Monday to Friday; Must be available to work any shift (1st, 2nd and 3rd)
Pay Rate: $ 55.00-$58.00 per hour

Role Summary & Impact

As an Assembly Mechanic, you will be instrumental in building and assembling advanced aircraft structures and systems. Your precision, technical expertise, and commitment to quality will directly impact aircraft safety, performance, and reliability—ensuring every component meets the highest industry standards.


What You’ll Do (Day-to-Day)
  • Assemble, install, seal, rig, and inspect complex aircraft structural and system components

  • Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and work instructions to execute tasks accurately

  • Perform functional testing and ensure proper fit, form, and function of assemblies

  • Use precision measuring tools and shop mathematics to verify quality standards

  • Operate and maintain conventional and CNC fastening equipment

  • Identify and document discrepancies, ensuring compliance with engineering and quality requirements

  • Perform basic equipment maintenance and support preventative maintenance tasks

  • Move materials and assemblies within the production area using assigned equipment

  • Cross-train in inspection processes and work toward SIA qualification

  • Execute specialized tasks such as:

    • Structural assembly and installation

    • Integral fuel cell sealing

    • Precision bench assembly

    • Pressure and vacuum testing

    • Door installation and sub-assembly work


Required Qualifications
  • 10+ years of experience as an Assembly Mechanic in aerospace manufacturing

  • Proven experience with fuselage integration and multilayer layup

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications

  • Experience using precision tools, measuring instruments, and assembly equipment

  • Strong understanding of aircraft structures and systems assembly processes

  • High School Diploma or GED

Pay Details: $55.00 to $58.00 per hour
