Job description

Position Summary
Under the direction of the Safety Program Manager for Kids & Aquatics. The CPR instructor is responsible for the instruction, leadership, supervision, control, and safety of all class participants. The CPR Instructor is responsible for quality assurance and effectively facilitating American Red Cross/Lifesaving Society Courses. It is the CPR instructor's responsibility to observe and direct all class participants, and to provide feedback and appropriate correction according to American Red Cross or Lifesaving Society.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
  • Serves as a resource on American Red Cross (ARC)/Lifesaving Society (LSS) provider course curriculum and protocols of Life Time, instructors and participants
  • Conducts ARC Skills Sessions while adhering to ARC and Life Time guidelines
  • Instructor continues their development by completing updates and training with ARC and Life Time
  • Organizes and directs activities of assigned participants in order to provide a high level of quality instruction for all students
  • Helps to recruit students needing FA/CPR/AED certification to upcoming classes
  • Completes and submits proper documentation to CPR Administrator within 24 hours
  • Helps organize and assists in the development of special programs, activities or instruction

Minimum Required Qualifications
  • Ability to react to emergency situations by quick movements, strenuous activity, and on occasion assist or lift persons in distress of varying weights
  • Required to remain alert to dangerous situations while sitting, standing or walking for various lengths of time
  • Ability to manage different age and size of groups during skill practice sessions
  • Ability to effectively communicate and teach all skills associated with the course

Education:
  • HS Graduate or Equivalent

Licenses / Certifications / Registrations:
  • First Aid, CPR, and AED adult, infant and child certifications
  • Current FA/CPR/AED Instructor certification with the American Red Cross or Current Standard First Aid with CPR C Instructor certification with Lifesaving Society
  • Other approvals prior to teaching as applicable

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Previous instruction experience
