Job description

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner

Shriners Children's Ohio has an opportunity for a full-time / night shift Acute Care Nurse Practitioner. Join a team of professionals committed to improving children's lives. Key Responsibilities

  • The Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) provides care that requires knowledge and skills obtained from advanced formal education and clinical experience.
  • The ACNP, in collaboration with the physicians and interdisciplinary team, may provide preventive, acute, specialized and primary care services to patients consistent with the nurse's education and certification.
  • Services provided by the ACNP may include, but are not limited to the following: 1) assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of identified health needs; 2) ordering and interpretation of diagnostic and/or laboratory tests; 3) formulating, documenting, and monitoring treatment plans; 4) routine wound or post-operative dressing management; 5) ordering interdisciplinary consults; and 6) ordering pharmacologic and non-pharmacologic therapies and/or interventions.
  • In addition to standard ACNP responsibilities, duties also include the day to day management and development of the nurse practitioner program at SCH-C.

Required Qualifications

  • Master of Science or Doctorate in Nursing
  • Active OH Certified Nurse Practitioner (CNP) license with eligibility for licensure in states as needed for telemedicine
  • Active OH RN license with eligibility for licensure in states as needed for telemedicine
  • Acute Care Certified Pediatric Nurse Practitioner (CPNP-AC) certification from the PNCB
  • BLS certification. PALS certification within 3 months of hire
  • DEA certification

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced practice experience in a pediatric ICU

Compensation is determined based on years of relevant experience and departmental equity.
