Physician Advisor

ProSidian seeks a physician advisor in CONUS/OCONUS - Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA-Sam Houston) to support an engagement for a branch of the US Military (MEDCOM) focused on organizing the development of strategies to support VA/DOD Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) implementation.

The ProSidian engagement team members work to facilitate the development of VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guideline Toolkits for the support and implementation of the VA/DoD Clinical Practice Guidelines (CPGs) recommendations for care and service on the management of various selected health conditions used within the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) and Department of Defense (DoD). Approximately five VA/DOD CPGs are developed and published each year. Each VA/DOD CPG requires one toolkit which contains approximately five tools which results in approximately 25 tools produced per each contractual year. This contract request is to provide a subject matter expert for the facilitation and support required to reach working group consensus in determining the appropriate data for use in the development of approximately 25 tools per year in the associated five toolkit conferences per year.

Physician advisor candidates shall work to support requirements for program support and primary role is the physically attend the toolkit conferences, as required by the government. The contractor shall conduct business, between the hours of 8:00am and 4:30pm, Monday thru Friday except federal holidays or when the government facility is closed.

The government shall arrange for the conference space and shall notify the contractor of dates, times and locations. The location is identified during the pre-conference teleconferences. Travel may be required by the contractor to the conference space. Applicable travel expenses will be covered. Please be advised, the government may opt for a virtual conference which would not require any travel.

Facilities will be open each day of the conference. Conferences typically begin on a Tuesday and end on Friday. Conference hours Tuesday through Thursday typically run 0800 hours to 1700 hours. The conference typically concludes at 1400 hours on Friday.

The contractor will provide an overview of the VA/DOD clinical practice guidelines (CPG's) developed with reference to the diagnosis or injury that is the subject of the VA/DOD CPG/conference. Provide the PowerPoint presentation developed during pre-conference support at the toolkit conference, and any subsequent introductory PowerPoint presentations on subsequent conference days for posting to the HQ MEDCOM EBP website. Separate attendees into groups as appropriate, and facilitates group discussions based on subject matter expertise and decisions from prior conference discussions/communications. Work with group participants to guide discussions and encourage collaboration. Identify and recommend work to be accomplished in preparation for the following day of the conference as applicable. Develop a summary of the activities performed during each day of the conference for presentation and distribution at the beginning of the next day of the conference. Products presented at the conference shall be approved by COR and chief, EBP prior to conference presentation.

Oversee and provide clinical leadership for the development of educational content for physicians in both evidence-based and emerging medicine topics. Develop and cultivate strong relationships with thought leaders, investigators and key opinion leaders. Onboard new, and coach existing, content team members to maximize their talents and assignments. Develop the strategy, approach, and format ensuring all online content is developed on time in line with organizational strategic goals, medical guidelines and trends, and accreditation standards. Analyze business processes and ensures that functional and technical requirements are validated and documented through standard operating procedures, process charts, project charters and project plans. Review editorial and clinical content of learning projects for accuracy and relevance. Assist in developing needs analyses, learning curriculums, and strategic training initiatives based on principles of adult learning. Manage internally and externally written content to ensure that it meets quality standards and is in alignment with customer expectations and medical, legal and regulatory requirements. Provide timely, consistent and constructive feedback to section editors, faculty, writers and other contributors ensuring appropriate syntax, style, and content flow for different product types and target audiences, amending or rewriting content as needed. Direct content development through appropriate review and workflow processes ensuring on-time delivery and content quality. Assist in commissioning and contracting thought leader authors and editors, as needed. Provide clinical insight into the build of granular content designs, together with an instructional designer - i.e. determining how related content should be clustered together and in what format content should best be delivered. Provide cross-departmental medical support and expertise for all appropriate initiatives, including investor, partner and client presentations, business strategy market research and analytics. Identify and implement content development and other process improvements in collaboration with product development and other content and learning colleagues. Proactively stay informed of regulatory requirements, guidelines and current trends through familiarity with relevant recent literature and regular attendance of national and select regional medical congresses. Ensure active communications within and across teams establishing strong relationships and agility to re-prioritize assignments as needed.

The physician advisor shall have consecutive employment in a position with comparable responsibilities within the past five (5) years. Must be able to use a computer to communicate via email; and proficient in Microsoft Office products (Word/Excel/Power point) and related tools and technology required for the position. Work products shall be thorough, accurate, appropriately documented, and comply with established criteria. The candidate shall ensure that duties are performed in a competent and professional manner that meets milestones/delivery schedules as outlined.

Master degree (MSN, MS, MPH, MEd, or relevant field); preferred advanced degree (e.g. MD, PharmD, NP, PhD, DNP). 5+ years of experience in the design and development of continuing medical or clinical education activities for healthcare professionals, preferably including technology-enabled online learning. Creative in developing user-centric and interactive medical content. Possesses excellent project management and organizational skills and a strong attention to detail. Strong and up-to-date general knowledge in the medical sciences. Proficient with VISIO, MS Word, PowerPoint, Articulate Story-line, and standard project management software.

Travel as coordinated with the technical point of contact and approved in writing by the contracting officer in advance, is allowed, in accordance with federal travel regulations. Location: work shall be conducted at the CONUS/OCONUS - Joint Base San Antonio (JBSA-Sam Houston).

U.S. citizenship required. Excellent oral and written communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office products (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, & Adobe). All ProSidian staff must be determined eligible for a "facility access authorization" (also referred to as an "employment authorization") by the USG's designated security office.
