Our client, a locally owned and well-established CPA firm, has an exciting opening for a Senior Staff Accountant. This role will utilize your expertise in complex business and individual tax return preparation and review, tax research and planning, financial consulting, and client advisory services, while providing opportunities to manage multiple engagements, mentor staff, and build strong relationships with clients.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Possess and maintain advanced technical knowledge of federal and state tax laws (individual, partnership, corporate and fiduciary)
  • Plan, manage, and review tax engagements, ensuring technical accuracy, compliance, and timely completion
  • Manage and oversee multiple client engagements simultaneously
  • Develop and maintain trusted client relationships by providing responsive, proactive, and high-quality service
  • Mentor, supervise, train, and review the work of staff while fostering their professional development
  • Effectively communicate with and on behalf of clients
  • Possess an understanding and appreciation for the profession of public accounting, including all the career benefits and nuances associated with it, and a strong desire and commitment to pursue a career in this profession

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of five (5) years experience in public accounting
  • Active CPA license preferred, but not required
  • Prior experience and expertise with real estate related clients a plus
  • Technically skilled and able to plan, manage, and review complex tax engagements
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (e.g. Excel, Word) and able to quickly learn and effectively use tax, accounting, document management, and research software (e.g., Lacerte, Thomson Reuters Suite, SurePrep, QuickBooks)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with clients, team members, and firm leadership
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, including the ability to supervise, train, develop, and review the work of staff
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively while maintaining a high level of professionalism, confidentiality, and client service
  • Successful completion of a background check (including criminal and credit) as a condition of employment
