Job description

We are seeking a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our small accounting team. This role involves reviewing the work of staff accountants, consulting with clients on tax matters, and developing effective tax strategies. The ideal candidate will handle some tax preparation tasks and represent clients in negotiations with tax authorities such as the IRS or FTB, including audit representation and setting up payment plans as needed.

Responsibilities

  • Review staff accountant work for accuracy and compliance
  • Consult with clients on tax-related issues and strategies
  • Develop tailored tax strategies to optimize client outcomes
  • Perform tax preparation using UltraTax software
  • Represent clients in tax negotiations and audit proceedings
