Role Summary
Associated Bank is seeking a detail-oriented Title Examiner Specialist to support commercial lending operations by reviewing title commitments, researching property records, and resolving title-related issues prior to closing. This role plays a key part in protecting the bank and borrowers from risk while ensuring transactions move efficiently and accurately. Ideal candidates are analytical, organized, and thrive in a collaborative environment.Key Accountabilities
- Research and analyze real estate records to verify property ownership and identify title-related issues
- Examine title commitments, judgments, and legal documents for accuracy and completeness
- Coordinate with title companies, processors, and internal partners to resolve outstanding title concerns
- Review appraisal reports and supporting documentation to confirm accuracy and compliance
- Summarize title findings and prepare reports outlining potential risks or discrepancies
- Maintain detailed records and communicate findings clearly to processors and closers
- Utilize county systems, websites, and courthouse records to conduct title and judgment searches
- Support timely loan processing by ensuring issues are resolved prior to closing
Required
- High school diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience
- 2+ years of title examining experience
- Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving skills
- Knowledge of property law, title terminology, and real estate documentation
- Experience supporting commercial lending or mortgage operations
- Familiarity with appraisal reviews and title risk mitigation processes
- Strong communication and organizational skills in a fast-paced environment
