Job description

Armed Courthouse Security Guard
Advanced Professional Security
Advanced Professional Security delivers professional protective services with a strong emphasis on integrity, vigilance, and public safety. We are seeking reliable and highly professional Armed Courthouse Security Guards to support daily court operations. This role is ideal for individuals who maintain composure, demonstrate sound judgment, and understand the importance of security within a judicial environment.
Compensation & Schedule
  • Pay Rate: $23.00 to $26.00 per hour, based on experience
  • Paid lunches
  • Work Hours: Approximately 35 to 45 hours per week
  • Shift: Day shift
  • Schedule: 9-hour shifts, Monday through Friday
Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain a secure and orderly courthouse environment
  • Monitor entry points and control building access
  • Screen visitors and enforce security procedures
  • Provide a visible security presence to deter disruptions
  • Respond promptly and professionally to incidents or safety concerns
  • Coordinate with court staff, law enforcement, and emergency responders
  • Conduct interior and exterior patrols as required
  • Observe and report suspicious behavior or security risks
  • Assist court personnel and visitors when needed
  • Prepare accurate and detailed incident reports
  • Ensure compliance with all post orders and regulations
Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of two years of armed security experience
  • Active CJIS certification
  • Valid armed security credentials as required by the state
  • Ability to read, write, and communicate clearly in English
  • Ability to pass all required background screenings and drug testing
  • Professional demeanor and strong interpersonal skills
  • Sound decision-making and conflict management abilities
  • Comfort working in a structured, high-security setting
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Preferred Background
  • Prior military, corrections, bailiff, or law enforcement experience is highly valued
  • Experience in courthouse or government facility security is a plus
