Job Description

Addison Group is hiring on behalf of our client for a Litigation Legal Assistant to support attorneys within a fast-paced litigation practice. This role requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide day-to-day administrative and legal support to assigned litigation attorneys.
  • Serve as a point of contact by professionally answering calls, greeting visitors, and directing inquiries as appropriate.
  • Prepare, revise, and finalize legal documents and correspondence, including formatting, proofreading, and distribution.
  • Review incoming materials and route correspondence, pleadings, and reports to appropriate parties.
  • Draft routine letters and legal documents based on attorney direction.
  • Coordinate meetings, depositions, and conferences, including scheduling court reporters, expert witnesses, and other third parties.
  • Manage attorney calendars, track court deadlines, and maintain accurate docketing of filings and appearances.
  • Assist with electronic filing in various courts and maintain organized electronic and physical files.
  • Communicate with clients, courts, opposing counsel, and other external parties in a professional and timely manner.
  • Support billing activities, including time entry review, expense submissions, and invoice preparation.
  • Ensure sensitive and confidential information is handled appropriately at all times.
  • Assist with special assignments and projects as needed to support the legal team.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years of experience as a Legal Assistant/Secretary
  • Prior experience working in a personal injury law firm or legal environment, supporting litigation attorneys.
  • Familiarity with legal terminology, court procedures, and law firm workflows.
  • Experience with electronic court filing systems.
