Job description

Mechanic for Mowing Equipment - Golf Course - River Landing

Job Description: Under the direction of the Equipment Manager or Golf Course Superintendent, the Assistant Equipment Manager assists and/or works independently repairing and maintaining various gasoline and diesel-powered golf course maintenance equipment. The Assistant Equipment Manager also assists in maintaining a clean service area and maintenance building, contributing to a preventive maintenance program, and places safety procedures as a top priority.
  • Inspects, diagnoses, adjusts and repairs mechanical defects/failures in various pieces of golf course maintenance equipment, on a regular basis.
  • Prioritizes equipment repair and maintenance work.
  • Sets up and modified new equipment, as needed.
  • Repairs and adjusts engines and cutting mechanisms on various heavy and light mowing equipment.
Requirements: Working knowledge of the general operation of gasoline, diesel and electric-powered equipment. Proper methods of servicing golf course equipment. The repair and adjustment of power mowing equipment. Working knowledge of the hazards and safety precautions of the profession. Mechanical ability. Valid drivers license with acceptable driving record.
Salary: Hourly rate dependent upon experience and education.
Benefits: Full-time position. Comprehensive benefits package to include health, dental, and life insurance, 401K retirement.
Hours: Monday through Thursday and 1/2 day on Friday, plus every other weekend. In the Winter 7am-3:30pm and in the summer 6am- 2:30pm.
