Located in Greater Boston,MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college, offering associatedegrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills,Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.
Position Summary:
The idealcandidate will join a vibrant educational community and have a desire andability to serve a population of students with various needs and backgrounds. The candidate is expected to commit toexcellence in teaching and learning, collaboration and professionaldevelopment. Adjunct faculty areexpected to deliver course materials in a learner-centered environment conductiveto engaging students in the learning process. The faculty member in thisposition communicates consistently and effectively with students, faculty andadministrators, and responds to communications within a 24 hour period. Thefaculty is responsible for managing this course through timely grading ofassignments, providing substantial student feedback with assignments, andsubmission of clinical evaluations, attendance and grades.
MassBayCommunity College seeks a qualified adjunct Central Processing ClinicalInstructor for current and future semesters. The successful candidate will joina vibrant, inclusive educational community and demonstrate the ability to workeffectively with a varied student population. This role supports continuity inthe clinical program by serving as a point of contact for students and clinicalpartners, monitoring student records and progress, and ensuring adherence tocollege and healthcare partner protocols. The instructor conducts scheduleddaytime clinical visits and helps ensure the program aligns with MassBay'sCentral Sterile Processing (CPT) curriculum and clinical documentationrequirements. The position requires close collaboration with the SurgicalServices program director and CPT faculty to support efficient programoperations. The instructor may occasionally attend evening labs to connect withstudents and help coordinate clinical assignments. Candidates must haveexperience and certification in CPT or Surgical Technology, communicateeffectively, evaluate students objectively, and work collaboratively as part ofa team.
Semester,Days, Times

• Fall 2026,Spring 2027, Summer 2027;
• Clinicals(Visit students weekly during the daytime in clinic -Tuesdays, Wednesdays,Thursdays, Fridays -variable schedule). This work is compensated hourly at theDCE rate stated below.

Key Responsibilities and Duties:

• Provide students with a structured approach to organize paperwork for their attendance, clinical, and other required clinical documents;
• Visit students during clinicals during the daytime and check in with preceptors about their progress;
• Communicate effectively and promptly with program officials on students' academic progress and needs;
• Participate in evaluating courses and program learning outcomes;
• Track student progress, contribute to the accreditation/compliance reporting, and annually/ regularly assess the program;
• Adhere to established college, program, and hospital protocols and procedures, including the college calendar and deadlines;
• Stay current about developments in the profession on the adjunct's own time;
• Use the College's technology efficiently to effectively teach, assess, and communicate with students;
• Carry out additional responsibilities as delegated by the Dean or their representative;
• Other duties as assigned.

AdditionalResponsibilities and Duties Outside of Teaching the Course:

• Assist with program organization, implementation, and information sessions. Serve as a liaison between clinical partners and the college, help address student concerns, and collaborate with Admissions and Advising to communicate with prospective students and participate in information sessions and new-student orientations;

• In coordination with the lecture and lab instructor, report program progress and outcomes between semesters and during the summer;
• Much of this work is based in Framingham and can be completed remotely; however, some travel is required to establish and maintain clinical sites, along with occasional on-campus presence with advance notice. Compensation for this program-organization work is $35 per hour for up to 8 hours per week, though the work typically requires 4-6 hours weekly.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate Degree in Surgical Technology or higher, or Certificate in CPT, CRCST Certification, or Surgical Technology( CST) Certification;
• A minimum of four (4) years of recent work experience in a CPT or Surgical Technology role or a relevant combination of both or something comparable;
• Exemplary interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills;
• Organized and punctual.

• Demonstrated commitment to working with students in need;
• Bachelor's degree preferred;
• Evidence of a career that includes a strong work ethic with a proven track record of project completion, multitasking, and the ability to handle high-pressure environments.

Salary Range: $1,512- $1,715 per DCE Credit
