Description
A.T. Still University's Arizona School of Dentistry & Oral Health (ATSU-ASDOH) is seeking an non-exempt Float Dental Assistant on the Mesa, Arizona campus.
Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Assist students/residents and/or faculty.
  • Maintain supply levels.
  • Maintain organization and cleanliness of operatories used in the surgery department.
  • Maintain suction Lines and DUWL.
  • Weekly meetings with students.
  • Responsible for clinic department closure i.e: transport instruments to sterilization, computer/monitor shutdown, close vertical blinds, turn N2O off, Organize operatories, etc. as assigned/necessary.
  • Process biopsies (Oral/Perio Surgery).
  • Participate in staff meetings and other departmental meetings.
  • Provide feedback on supply usage and possible cost savings measures.
  • Continuing education course attendance.
  • CPR certification course to maintain current CPR certification.

Requirements
Skills & Experience:
  • Must be CPR and X-Ray certified.
  • Must have 2-3 years previous dental assisting experience, CDA preferred.
  • At least one year electronic healthcare records (EHR) software experience.
  • Knowledgeable in OSHA standards, aseptic procedures, HIPAA regulations, sterilization, infection control, and all dental procedures and supplies.
  • Professional appearance and strong communication, facilitation, and organizational skills a must.
  • Must be flexible, able to change assignments with little direction.
  • Must work well independently and in a group environment.
