Job Summary

The Courier I is responsible for the safe, efficient, and timely pick-up and delivery of food and environmental samples to and from laboratory testing facilities. This role plays an important part in maintaining sample integrity and supporting laboratory operations.

The Courier provides outstanding customer service while ensuring compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, and safety standards.

This position requires the ability to use the company's routing and delivery mobile application to receive routes, track deliveries, upload documentation, and communicate with dispatch. Candidates must be comfortable using smartphones, navigation tools, and mobile apps in a professional environment.

Responsibilities
  • Safely operate a company vehicle to transport food and environmental samples between customer locations and laboratory facilities.

  • Ensure all samples are delivered on time and in proper condition while maintaining required chain-of-custody documentation.

  • Use the company's routing and driving mobile application to receive assignments, follow delivery routes, log stops, upload photos, and communicate with dispatch.

  • Provide professional and courteous customer service during pick-up and delivery interactions.

  • Follow all company policies and applicable state and federal driving regulations.

  • Report accidents, incidents, or vehicle issues according to company procedures.

  • Assist with routine vehicle checks to ensure safe and reliable operation.

  • Coordinate with laboratory staff regarding sample schedules and priorities.

  • Complete assigned FDA collections and required photo documentation for warehouse or freezer samples.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.

  • Participate in team initiatives and support departmental goals.

Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • 2+ years of professional courier, delivery, or transportation experience preferred.

  • Current, valid driver's license issued in the state of operation.

  • Clean driving record with no DUIs or major moving violations within the past 5 years.

  • Comfortable using mobile technology, navigation systems, and delivery apps.

  • Demonstrated professionalism, reliability, and strong work ethic.

  • Basic knowledge of laboratory operations preferred.
