Work Environment

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough mental health assessments to diagnose emotional and behavioral disorders, ensuring each client receives a personalized approach to treatment.
• Develop and implement tailored treatment plans that align with clients' specific needs and therapeutic goals, revising them as necessary based on therapeutic progress.
• Provide engaging individual, couple, and group counseling sessions that foster healing and growth, using evidence-based therapeutic techniques.
• Teach clients effective coping mechanisms and self-care strategies to empower them in managing their mental health challenges, enabling lasting change beyond therapy sessions.
• Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment plans through regular progress assessments, adapting strategies as needed to support client success.
• Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists and medical providers, to ensure a holistic approach to client care that considers all aspects of their health.
• Maintain meticulous and confidential records of client interactions, progress notes, and treatment plans in compliance with HIPAA regulations, safeguarding client privacy and trust.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Professional Counselor at Gateway Psychotherapy Center, you will work with a diverse client population consisting of adults facing a variety of issues, such as anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, and relationship challenges. Your role is crucial in providing culturally sensitive care, and you will receive support and training tailored towards effectively addressing the unique needs of different demographic groups.

Qualifications

• A Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, or a closely related field is essential for this position.
• Current state licensure as a Professional Counselor (LPC) in Connecticut.
• Demonstrated experience in individual, couple, and group counseling in a clinical setting.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, allowing you to build rapport with clients effectively and facilitate open dialogues.
• Empathy, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude that fosters a safe space for clients to express their concerns.
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a remote team, showcasing flexibility and adaptability to changing client dynamics.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with telehealth platforms and remote counseling methodologies is highly desirable.
• Additional certifications in specific therapeutic modalities (e.g., CBT, DBT, etc.) will be considered an asset.
• Experience in crisis intervention and assessment is preferred.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary for this full-time position ranges from USD 70,000 to 90,000 annually, depending on your experience and caseload availability.
