Position Summary

At Black Walnut Inn & Vineyard, the Guest Room Attendant plays a critical role in creating exceptional guest experiences through meticulous cleaning, thoughtful room presentation, and genuine hospitality. This position is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, appearance, and overall comfort of guest rooms and public areas in alignment with the property’s luxury service standards.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, service-focused, and takes pride in delivering a warm and welcoming environment reflective of the vineyard and wine country experience.

Core Responsibilities

Guest Room Cleaning & Preparation

  • Clean and service assigned guest rooms, suites, and bathrooms according to property standards and      daily productivity expectations. 
  • Change linens, make beds, replace towels, and replenish guest amenities. 
  • Dust, vacuum, sweep, mop, and sanitize all assigned areas thoroughly. 
  • Ensure all rooms are properly staged and guest-ready prior to arrival. 
  • Inspect rooms for cleanliness, maintenance issues, and presentation quality. 
  • Report maintenance concerns, safety hazards, or lost and found items immediately. 

Public Area Support

  • Assist with maintaining cleanliness and presentation of public areas, hallways, storage rooms, and employee spaces as assigned. 
  • Support laundry operations or turndown service when needed. 

Guest Service

  • Provide courteous and professional interactions with guests and team members. 
  • Respond promptly and professionally to guest requests and housekeeping service needs. 
  • Maintain guest privacy and confidentiality at all times. 

Operational Excellence

  • Follow all housekeeping procedures, chemical handling guidelines, and safety standards. 
  • Properly use and maintain housekeeping equipment and supplies. 
  • Adhere to departmental productivity and quality standards. 
  • Support sustainability and property cleanliness initiatives. 

Qualifications

  • Previous housekeeping or hospitality experience preferred. 
  • Luxury hotel, inn, or resort experience is a plus. 
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. 
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team. 
  • Positive attitude with a strong guest-service mindset. 
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality required. 
  • Basic English communication skills required; bilingual English/Spanish is a plus. 

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. 
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, and carry up to 30 pounds regularly. 
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, and reach frequently throughout the shift. 
  • Ability to work in varying environmental conditions and use cleaning chemicals safely. 

Work Environment

This position operates in a hospitality environment with frequent guest interaction and a fast-paced operational setting. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and varying shifts is required.
