Salary range (but not limited to):

94,200 - 115,200

Annual bonus target, based on the base salary, with a potential payout of up to double the target (subject to personal and company performance):

Salary for the candidate will be determined taking into consideration a number of factors including: experience, skills, qualifications, anticipated contribution to role, internal equity, etc. The salary range presented above is based on a 35-hour workweek and would represent a majority of different candidate profiles. About the role

We are looking for a Financial Specialist to join our National Real Estate team!


What you will accomplish with us:

  • Master the Month-End Close: Lead the end-to-end month-end accounting cycle for the Real Estate portfolio, including the preparation of journal entries, accruals, and comprehensive balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Drive Financial Integrity: Maintain a robust internal control framework and perform detailed variance analysis to ensure the accuracy of financial statements and mitigate reporting risks.
  • Strategic CAPEX & Asset Management: Budget, track, and report on capital expenditures (CAPEX) and fixed assets, providing leadership with clear visibility into project spending, depreciation, and variances.
  • Lead Process Innovation: Identify and implement initiatives to improve financial systems and accounting workflows, focusing on automation and efficiency.
  • Elevate Data Analytics: Maintain and evolve Real Estate project dashboards using Power BI/Power Query to provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Lead financial systems and accounting processes improvement initiatives.


What you will bring:

  • Professional accounting designation (CPA).
  • Proven experience with IFRS16 is an asset.
  • Minimum 5 to 8 years of relevant experience in accounting, IFRS accounting standards and/or finance.
  • Knowledge of the P&C insurance industry is an asset.
  • Proficiency in Power Query & Power Bi is an asset.
  • Fast learner with the agility and adaptability to thrive in a changing environment.
  • Discipline, autonomy and professionalism.
  • Strong oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to interact effectively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization, including senior management.
  • Bilingualism (English and French) is essential - Need to interact on a regular basis with English-speaking colleagues across the country.
  • No work experience in Canada required, but must have authorization to work in Canada.
