Dishwasher Job Description
The Dishwasher position is an entry-level position with approximately 30-40 hours scheduled per week. It is a physically demanding job that involves attention to detail, following a routine of scrapping and washing dishes, pots, pans, glassware, and utensils, and keeping the dish area clean, sanitized, and free of maintenance problems.
Supervision: As a Dishwasher, you'll take directions from the Chef, who will guide you in your daily tasks and provide support as needed.
Main Duties
- Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible
- Collect and wash all food preparation and serving equipment
- Clean dishwashing area, including dishwasher, tabletops, floors, walls, equipment, storage, and grease traps
- Collect and take out trash
- Sweep and mop floors
- Follow daily cleaning checklists
Physical Demands
- The Dishwasher will stand on his/her feet for long periods of time
- The dishwasher handles hot plates, pots, pans, and very hot water and steam-filled areas. The work is hot, humid, and physically demanding
- Must demonstrate extreme care when handling knives or other pieces of equipment by following proper procedures and training
Hours
- Tuesday - Friday 8am - 3pm
- Saturday and Sunday 10am - 3pm
- Off Mondays
While your main duties will be dishwashing, there's potential for growth in this role. You may be asked to assist with food preparation, offering you the chance to expand your skills and responsibilities.
