CVG Properties is actively searching for an Apartment Maintenance Technician to join our San Diego Area Team and to oversee a beautiful 80-unit Apartment community in La Mesa, CA.
The ideal candidate will have experience in all trades and be very customer service focused. Some duties will include cleaning grounds, offices, common areas, completing maintenance service requests, appliance repairs, painting, apartment turnovers, taking emergency calls and more!

The Apartment Maintenance Technician works closely with the Community Managers and is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance operations and physical upkeep of the property, and for ensuring the property is compliant with our policies, standards and commitment to exceeding resident expectations. In addition, this position is responsible for ensuring the property is well maintained and clear of any hazards.
Job Duty Summary (list is not all-inclusive):
  • Provide outstanding service and timely resolution to resident issues.
  • Manages daily assignments and logistics to ensure number of repair calls and customer satisfaction/response times are met.
  • Performs various maintenance functions including repairs to the following: electrical, plumbing, appliances, flooring, carpentry, HVAC, grounds maintenance as dictated by state guidelines.
  • Performs general carpentry duties such as wallboard repair, countertop/cabinet replacement, finish carpentry, door/lock repair.
  • Performs various proactive preventative interior apartment and exterior property maintenance in accordance with the CVG preventative maintenance checklists.
  • Maintain work orders electronically in Yardi Platform verifying that all orders are completed in a timely manner to company standards and the customer's satisfaction.
  • Daily inspection of the community grounds, buildings, and common area amenities to maintain safety and cleanliness standards and to identify issues requiring maintenance, repair or replacement.
  • Observe and promote safety and risk management in accordance with local, federal, state, and company rules and regulations.
  • Help monitor response times for emergency on-call/after-hours maintenance assignments and addresses issues as needed. Participate in on-call rotation as necessary.
  • Promote customer satisfaction by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and curb appeal and always interact courteously and professionally with current and potential customers.
  • Conduct pre-move in and post-move out apartment inspections and ensure timely completion of quality unit turns.

Qualifications:
  • At least 2-3 year's experience in apartment maintenance
  • Experience in all trades (plumbing, electrical, general maintenance, a/c, etc.) a must!
  • Customer service attitude, flexibility and the ability to work in a team environment are key to making this position a success!
  • Reliable transportation is a MUST!
  • Availability to work on-call rotation.
  • Experience using Yardi is a plus.
  • Certification in pool service is beneficial but not required.
  • Must maintain professional appearance.
  • Must maintain a valid driver's license, clean driving record and current auto insurance is required.
  • Must comply with all safety requirements.
  • Understands and abides by Fair Housing laws.
  • Be able to work evenings and weekends if on-call.
