Job description

Federated Co-ops, Inc. has an opening for a Retail Counter Sales person to work out of our Moose Lake Country Store Location! As a Retail Counter Sales person, your responsibility focuses around assisting customers of the Country Store with product selection and purchasing. The schedule for this position is evenings (closing shift) and weekends. 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Retail Counter Sales person include the following.  Other duties may be assigned.  

  • Stocks shelves, counters, or tables with merchandise.
  • Sets up advertising displays or arranges merchandise on counters or tables to promote sales.
  • Stamps, marks, or tags price on merchandise.
  • Answers customer's questions concerning location, price, and use of merchandise.
  • Check out customer at register. Accepts payment and makes change.
  • Wraps or bags and carries merchandise for customers.
  • Completes general housekeeping duties in country store. 
  • Reports to store management with complaints, concerns or questions.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Must be able to meet, greet and follow up on customer inquiries and sales. As well as learn promote and sell all store products and services including but not limited to trailers, feed, power equipment, ATVs and small engine repair services. 

Education/Experience:

  • 3 – 5 years customer service (preferred)
  • 3 – 5 years promoting products and sales (preferred)

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.  The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, possibly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.  While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, or crouch.  The employee is occasionally required to sit.
