NATURE AND SCOPE

Under the direction of the Associate Dean, Programs, the Pedagogical Counsellor provides guidance and support to foster the culture of teaching excellence within the institution, with a focus on pedagogical research and innovation. The Pedagogical Counsellor has expertise in active learning pedagogy, instructional design, and educational technologies and is committed to supporting pedagogical development in the context of evolving technologies while meeting the objectives of the College's academic programs.


RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provides guidance, counsel, and resources to faculty and staff in areas related to pedagogical research and innovation, with a particular focus on educational technologies, Generative AI, and other emerging technologies
  • Collaborates with faculty, staff, and management to identify and evaluate educational technologies and tools relevant to college-level teaching
  • Develops and offers individualized and group support to faculty on the integration of educational technologies and tools in their teaching (e.g., Generative AI, online assessment tools, LMS platforms)
  • Guides faculty with innovative and creative pedagogical projects and writing research grant applications
  • Designs and produces written reports, presentations, and documentation, and develops evaluation tools to ensure ongoing monitoring and improvement of initiatives and processes
  • Works in collaboration with internal parties to support the development, implementation, and review of the College's quality assurance system for academic programs
  • Organizes faculty pedagogical days, pedagogical exchanges, and communities of practice
  • Supports faculty professional development initiatives and ongoing professional development
  • Participates in relevant College committees, as needed
  • Acts as a College representative with various external bodies, including the REPTIC network and PERFORMA
  • Fulfills other related duties as required

QUALIFICATIONS


  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline
  • Minimum of three years of teaching experience (mandatory requirement)
  • Teaching experience at the college level is an asset
  • Demonstrated knowledge of trends in pedagogy and educational practices
  • Excellent bilingualism (English and French, both written and spoken)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
  • Knowledge and experience with the Quebec college systems and Clara (Skytech) is an asset
