Job description

“Day to day life has room for improvement.”

That was our basic thinking when we founded Simplehuman in 2000. Our mission is to bring high-performance innovation to basic but essential tasks in our daily routine. We call our products tools for efficient living.

The Opportunity

We're looking for a highly energetic, assertive, and personable Account Manager to join the Simplehuman Sales team. This role leads our Costco Global relationship, owning the day-to-day partnership across US and international Costco markets and serving as the primary face of the brand.

This is a role for someone who thrives on relationships, knows how to earn trust, and can speak about a product with the kind of conviction that moves buyers. You'll serve as the day-to-day point of contact, representing our brand at the highest level while driving revenue and securing meaningful placement. Alongside the Costco relationship, you'll also manage a growing portfolio of distributor, builder, and trade accounts tied to a new product initiative, leading the follow‑up and execution that keeps these partners moving as the program comes to market. This is a fully on-site position based in our Torrance, CA office.

What You’ll Own
  • Own and grow the Costco Global relationship, driving sales, volume, and profitability across US and international Costco markets
  • Serve as the primary relationship owner for Costco, from buyer to category manager to warehouse-level contacts
  • Lead Costco account reviews, line presentations, item setup, and sell-in meetings with confidence and clarity
  • Negotiate Costco terms, pricing, and promotional programs that work for both sides
  • Manage a portfolio of distributor, builder, and trade accounts supporting a new product initiative, leading day-to-day follow-up, order execution, and relationship management
  • Communicate our brand story compellingly and consistently across every touchpoint
  • Collaborate with internal teams (marketing, ops, product, supply chain) to deliver on account commitments
  • Build and maintain sales tracking, forecasts, and performance reporting in Excel; proactively identify growth opportunities
  • Represent the company at trade shows, market events, and retailer meetings
What We’re Looking For
  • 5-10 years of account management or sales experience, with Costco and/or consumer goods experience strongly preferred
  • Proven track record of building and sustaining long-term client relationships, ideally with Costco or another major club/mass retail account
  • Experience managing or supporting distributor, builder, or trade accounts, with a strong focus on follow-up and execution
  • Skilled negotiator comfortable leading sell-in and promotional negotiations while advocating for your accounts and protecting company interests
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, able to speak to buyers, executives, and store-level teams with equal ease
  • Strong data, math, and Excel skills, with the ability to build forecasts, pricing models, and performance reports
  • Highly detail-oriented, with the discipline to manage complex account documentation and requirements accurately
  • High emotional intelligence; personable, adaptable, and genuinely curious about people
  • Proactive problem solver who thrives in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment
  • Able to speak fluently about brand positioning, category trends, and retail dynamics
  • Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple accounts and priorities simultaneously
