Quality Engineers are core delivery team members responsible for the validation of functional and nonfunctional requirements implemented by a team. They are responsible for decomposing the functional and technical requirements created by Product Owners into automation code and test scripts. Quality Engineers raise defects as issues are identified and support the remediation process with teams.

ROLE

  • Designs and leads implementation of testing processes for continuous improvement.

  • Drives adoption of standards and best practices for software testing and automation integration.

  • Discovers problems, analyze and mitigate quality risks.

  • Assists in the definition of testing strategies and approaches for complex technical implementations.

  • Directs, manages and removes roadblocks for multiple onshore and offshore teams of quality professionals.

  • Takes active role in interviewing and onboarding new employees as well as improving the processes.

  • Mentors and guides members of the team to increase skills and productivity.

  • Manages and prioritizes functional and automation team backlog effectively with QA leadership team.

  • Measures and reports organization performance against a comprehensive set of quality goals and metrics.

  • Guides team members to investigate the root cause of failed manual or automated test scripts.

  • Leads team members to decompose functional and nonfunctional requirements into test plans.

  • Supports team members to identify existing manual and automated test scripts that will be impacted through the development of new features and capabilities.

  • Collaborates with product team members (e.g., Product Owners, System Analysts) to define the automating testing approach/strategy for a given product/application.

  • Supports and guides team members (e.g., DevOps Engineers, Systems Architects) to incorporate new automated test scripts into the continuous integration pipeline.

  • Defines the testing strategy and approach to validate new or enhanced functionality implemented by teams.

  • Determines test dependencies including QA test environment, QA tools, training, build and deployment plans, intra-team dependencies, and communication processes.

  • Identifies risks impacting the timely delivery of a given product and collaborates with team members to prepare mitigation strategies.

  • Shares feedback with the team members pertaining to the quality of sprint deliverables during retrospectives.

  • Manages the remediation of defects raised throughout the development lifecycle and creates supporting quality reports that are shared with stakeholders.

  • Develops testing protocols and standards to improve end-to-end testing outcomes and shares and adopts best practices with the center of excellence (CoE) and other Quality Engineers.

  • Shares test automation practices with engineers to promote "shift left" testing disciplines and practices (incorporate testing earlier in development) within a team.
    REQUIRED

  • 4+ years' in QA domain designing, developing, and executing both manual/automated tests.

  • 4+ years' current and demonstrable experience with API and UI test automation.

  • Recent development experience in Java (or similar).

  • Knowledge and understanding of typical multi-tier application architecture (presentation, service, data).

  • Knowledge of XML/JSON and web-based SOAP/RESTful services.

  • Knowledge of CI/CD systems and DevOps with tools such as Jenkins.

  • Experience with Service Oriented/Microservices Architectures.

  • Desire for being an active participant of a team willing to continually self-assess and improve.

  • Self-driven continuous learning mindset.

  • Experience working in a Scrum or other Agile environment.

  • Inventive problem solver.

  • Experience in building and/or maintaining automated test infrastructure.

Level 1 - $85,000 - $110,000

Level 2 - $105,000 - $135,000

Level 3 - $130,000 - $160,000
