Key Responsibilities & Duties
- Comprehensive Care: Conduct thorough eye exams, diagnose ocular diseases, and provide pre- and post-operative care.
- Prescription & Referral: Prescribe glasses and contact lenses, and make referrals for specialized care as needed.
- Patient Education: Counsel patients on eye health, hygiene, and preventative care.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate, detailed patient records, often utilizing Electronic Health Records (EHR).
- Equipment Management: Utilize state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment for patient exams.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Education: Doctor of Optometry (O.D.) degree from an accredited school.
