Job Description Summary :
The Cost Accountant will support the Controller in executing cost accounting functions and assist in the development of information needed to support operating plans.
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for the following:
Month-end, quarter-end and year-end closing process, as it relates to cost accounting.
Determining standard unit product costs, inventory valuation, pricing support and weekly & monthly forecast support.
Daily analysis of cost of sales. Analysis of Raw, Finished and WIP and cost by market channel.
Accurate reporting and valuation of inventory.
Review and maintain the Excess, Obsolescence, Shrink, LCM and Warranty Allowances.
Product cost analyses, including detailed costed bills of material, labor and subcontract costs, tooling and other non-recurring charges.
Ongoing standard cost maintenance for new products. Annual standard cost review and update of all parts.
Insure timely and accurate response to Corporate/Segment accounting request for information to area of responsibility
Assist in collection and reporting of closed work order and monthly labor costs of selected products for management and measurement purposes.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications :
The selected individual must meet the following requirements:
Minimum of Four Year Degree in Accounting or Finance with concentration in cost accounting
Minimum 5+ years finance/accounting experience in a manufacturing environment; Aerospace/Defense industry experience preferred
Familiarity with US GAAP

Experience in general ledger, cost accounting, financial analysis, SOX compliance
Strong understanding of an ERP business system (SAP preferred)
