Job Title: Senior Formulating Chemist - Innovation

The Senior Formulating Chemist is a key contributor within the Cosmetic Solutions Innovation Lab, driving exploratory research, next-generation formulation strategies, and cutting-edge concept development. This role blends creativity with scientific rigor—designing new technologies, identifying unmet needs, and transforming insights into differentiated, high-performance products.

The ideal candidate is a natural innovator with strong hands-on formulation experience, exceptional problem-solving abilities, and the confidence to lead projects from concept to commercialization. • Translate macro trends, consumer insights, and scientific advancements into original product concepts with compelling points of difference.
  • Conduct investigational research to explore novel ingredients, materials, and formulation pathways; troubleshoot atypical results using creative and scientific approaches.
  • Analyze experimental data, draw scientifically sound conclusions, and present findings to cross-functional teams.
  • Build strong partnerships with Manufacturing, Production, Purchasing, and QA/QC to integrate innovation seamlessly from lab to scale-up.
  • Navigate shifting priorities and adapt to rapid changes inherent to innovation-driven environments.
  • Develop and guide innovative formulation lab activities to support strategic business goals.
  • Evolve, modernize, and enhance existing formulations through new technologies and ingredient innovations.
  • Manage projects derived from product briefs and client development requests, ensuring timely execution and high-quality outcomes.
  • Engage with customers, suppliers, and external partners to influence product direction and fuel innovation.
  • Provide technical expertise to Marketing and Sales during client acquisition and ongoing strategic support.
  • Uphold rigorous lab safety practices and promote an innovation culture rooted in responsibility and integrity.
  • Consistently exceed customer expectations through creativity, precision, and scientific excellence.
  • Contribute to an environment that encourages curiosity, experimentation, and continuous improvement

Qualifications:

  • 7–10 years of experience in skincare or cosmetic formulation with a track record of innovation.
  • Collaborative mindset with a positive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Excellent multitasking and adaptability in a fast-paced, evolving R&D environment.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in method development, experimental design, and troubleshooting.
  • Strong passion for beauty and deep understanding of the evolving beauty consumer.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a creative, team-driven environment.
  • Self-motivated and excited to learn new techniques, technologies, and chemistry.
  • Green and Clean Chemistry experience.
