What is a corruption investigator?

Corruption investigators are professionals who specialize in detecting, investigating, and preventing corrupt activities within organizations or government bodies. They gather evidence, conduct interviews, and analyze financial records to uncover instances of bribery, fraud, embezzlement, or abuse of power. Their work often supports law enforcement or internal compliance efforts, and may lead to disciplinary actions or criminal prosecution. Corruption investigators play a key role in promoting transparency and accountability in both public and private sectors.

What are some common challenges faced by professionals working in anti-corruption roles?

Professionals in anti-corruption roles often encounter challenges such as navigating complex regulatory environments, overcoming resistance to transparency within organizations, and handling sensitive information with discretion. They must also balance the need for thorough investigations with respect for due process and privacy. Working in this field requires strong ethical judgment, resilience, and the ability to collaborate with legal, compliance, and audit teams to ensure effective prevention and detection strategies.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a corruption investigator, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Corruption Investigator, you need expertise in investigative techniques, legal procedures, and financial analysis, often supported by a degree in criminal justice, law, or accounting. Familiarity with forensic accounting software, case management systems, and evidence-gathering tools is essential. Strong analytical thinking, ethical integrity, and effective communication are vital soft skills for building cases and testifying in court. These skills ensure thorough investigations that uphold justice, maintain public trust, and support anti-corruption efforts.

Job description

"Schema Mapping & Transformation (PostgreSQL/Oracle to Cloud schema);
JSON parsing
XML transformation
Automated Data Quality Testing (using Python, Postman, or custom frameworks)
"DTCC- Non OMAI
Atlassian Migration Data & Automated Testing Developer to own data validation, schema structural mappings, and end-to-end automated testing during Jira Data Center to Cloud transition. Your primary mission is to ensure zero data loss, maintain absolute compliance consistency, and programmatically catch configuration drifts or corruption before final cutover. Rather than running manual UI tests, you will architect automated data comparison pipelines, write testing frameworks against live APIs, and validate complex relational databases against Atlassian Cloud JSON endpoints.
Key Responsibilities
1. Schema Mapping & Transformation Analyze legacy Jira Data Center relational database schemas (PostgreSQL/Oracle) and create structured data transformations to match Jira Cloud's multi-tenant object schemas.
2. Automated QA Engineering Build, maintain, and execute automated test suites (using Python, Postman, or custom frameworks) that programmatically cross-check pre-migration and post-migration data scopes (e.g., matching issue counts, custom field data arrays, attachments, and histories).
3. Data Integrity Verification Develop validation scripts to catch structural anomalies, duplicate configuration objects (like identically named workflows or statuses), and broken entity relationships during iterative dry run.
4.l API Validation & Reconciliation Leverage Jira DC and Cloud REST APIs to perform automated mass-diffing of system entities, checking that issue links, epics, sub-tasks, and agile board boards match down to the exact field mapping.
5. Audit Logging & Reporting Generate programmatically driven data-reconciliation scorecards for executive stakeholders and compliance audits, ensuring GDPR-compliant data sanitization (mapping usernames to accountIds cleanly).
