Database Specialist (EDM) – Cards
Sarasota, FL On-site, Full-Time, Monday-Friday 8:15 am to 5:00 pm
CCG is seeking a detail-oriented and highly knowledgeable Database Specialist in Cards to join our team and contribute to the accuracy and integrity of our collectibles data. Our database serves as the foundation of our operations, ensuring that every collectible is accurately cataloged and preserved.

WHAT YOU WILL DO AS A DATABASE SPECIALIST
You will be responsible for maintaining and updating our extensive database of collectible cards, ensuring that each item is correctly identified, researched, and validated. You will collaborate closely with the Verification and Grading teams, utilizing your in-depth knowledge of sports, non-sports, and/or trading card games to conduct thorough research and resolve complex or unique cases. This role requires a high level of expertise in the collectible card industry, strong research capabilities, and the ability to contribute to the seamless processing of submissions.
In this job you will be responsible for:
  • Database Management: Maintain and update the company’s database of sports, trading, and non-trading cards by adding, editing, and validating collectible information, ensuring accurate identification and cataloging.
  • Research amp; Validation: Perform in-depth research on rare or unknown cards, utilizing internal databases, proprietary research tools, and external sources such as forums, books, and online databases to confirm the authenticity and origins of submitted items.
  • Advanced Verification: Act as a second layer of validation for items flagged by Verifiers, conducting more extensive research and validation when necessary.
  • Language Proficiency (Preferred): Use multilingual skills to conduct research and interact with international resources, databases, and forums, enhancing the identification and validation process for cards produced outside the U.S.
  • Problem Solving amp; Escalation: Identify discrepancies or issues within the database or submission process, working with other departments to resolve and improve accuracy.
  • Documentation amp; Reporting: Ensure all research, findings, and database entries are thoroughly documented and stored for future reference.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously work to refine and improve the efficiency and accuracy of the database processes, providing insights and suggestions for system enhancements.
WHAT MAKES YOU THE IDEAL CANDIDATE
  • Card Expertise: Knowledge of all types of cards, and expertise in at least one of the following categories: sports, non-sports, and/or trading card games.
  • Research Skills: Proven ability to conduct advanced research across various sources, including online databases, secondary sources, books, forums, and more.
  • Data Management: Experience with data entry, database maintenance, and ensuring data integrity.
  • Cross-Functional Communication: Ability to collaborate effectively with internal teams, particularly the Verification and Grading teams.
  • Multilingual (Preferred): Fluency in languages other than English is a plus, allowing for broader research capabilities across international resources.
  • Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail when verifying and validating collectible information.
  • Problem Solving: Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to address complex verification issues and suggest improvements to the process.
