As a corrosion control technician, your duties are to install, clean, and perform maintenance on structures made of materials that are prone to corrode, such as bridges, water towers, rigging, derricks, offshore oil platforms, and piping systems. You also apply anti-corrosive materials as part of corrosion prevention strategies, such as cathodic protection, which makes a metal surface the cathode of an electrochemical cell. In addition to the application of anti-corrosive agents or methods, your responsibilities are also to maintain thorough documentation of your work and give periodic reports to supervisors.
